Weekends

After 2 1/2 years we were able to go up to London Ontario to visit my husband's mother for the weekend. We had a busy long visit and lots of shopping. The weather was super sunny (too sunny?) and quite warm. We got back yesterday and right now a thunderstorm is brewing outside along with some rain. I have classical piano music playing in the family room right now to distract Frodo from the thunder. I wish I would have thought of this years ago.

It feels weird traveling after not traveling for so long. As you know I am a homebody and just love being home. I was grateful to sleep in my own bed last night. Oh! and I miss Frodo and Holly too much as well. We are all reunited.

How was your weekend?

  1. I'm glad you finally got to visit your MiL, and I bet she was glad to see both of you! This weekend was too warm for me, but I think we may be into the season of too warm weather.

  3. I'm glad you got to visit family, it's so important to connect with family and friends. I'm sorry that Frodo suffers like this but it's great you've found a solution x

  4. So glad you got to visit family. I'm sure your MIL was thrilled to see you two again. Did your shopping involve yarn? Or books? Always nice to get home to your own bed and the animals who love you.

  8. That is so wonderful you were able to go see your MIL! We haven’t traveled in years and hope to do something this fall. We’ll see … like you, I’m a homebody and to me there’s no place like home.

  10. How nice to be able to visit family! I felt strange traveling when I first went a couple of months ago. I think we'll just start to ease in again as required. I am jealous of the weather you got, as it's been super wet and grey here, but I'm grateful that it's not super dry at least!

  11. Sounds like you had a nice weekend! I'll bet you MIL enjoyed seeing you. I, too, am envious of your blue skies as it's been very wet here, the second rainiest May on record and it's only half way through!

  13. Hi Karen,
...how nice that you were able to visit family again...we had a tree just like that in West Virginia...it littered the yard with blossoms every year...we've got plans to go to New Mexico and meet our son who is coming home for some training...we're thrilled to be able to see him...
    ~Have a lovely day!

  16. I imagine your mother-in-law was happy to see you. I'm glad you had a nice visit. We enjoyed my son's company on Saturday. Then he left for home on early Sunday morning and I did laundry and picked up the house.

  17. How nice to be able to visit her more easily now. I like being a homebody too where I don't have to rush off anywhere or have to wear make up and do my hair.

  18. Good! Also 2 1/2 years since I saw my niece and nephews, who just came down for a long weekend. I'm glad the Canadian-US border is easier to cross now.
