Weekends

 

Happy Easter to all of you who celebrate! How was your weekend? 

Yesterday, we went over to my sister's house for a small family luncheon. We had a great time and the food as always was good. I texted the kids and we exchanged some family photos of our celebrations since we were far away from each other. 

After many loads of laundry over the weekend and a quick cleaning, the house is done until the next weekend. I did a little bit of knitting and a little bit of reading each day. Mostly I relaxed and wished for different weather. Right now it is a rainy day (sigh).

My sister made me the little candle jar and the little bunny for Easter. They are delightful!

    That sounds like a very nice weekend! It's supposed to rain here every day this week except Friday. I'm already planning my nap this afternoon on this gray, gray day.

    Happy Easter, we had a quiet day starting with church. We'd gone to the Maundy Thursday evening service. Family here today Bank Holiday Monday. Finished a few knitting projects. Some reading too. Have a good week x

    Good morning Karen! We went to the lake condo but came home early because I started getting sick... needed a vaporizer and some medicine... Sounds like you had a lovely weekend! Yes, spring is here and the rain begins. So glad it is not snow! Hope you have a blessed week!

    It rained here in the afternoon but the morning was beautiful. I spent most of the day sitting on the covered deck knitting. Actually, I spent most of Saturday sitting on the deck knitting too. It was an wonderfully relaxing weekend for me. Happy belated Easter!

    What a lovely Easter weekend. The gifts from your sister are very sweet. We had two cool days and today a little rain and mist. We attended early church and then went to lunch with my brother-in-law and his family. A quiet Easter.

    Sounds like a nice relaxing weekend. For the first time I didn't cook a big ham dinner, we had a very casual brunch and I loved not doing dishes all day! I hope you can get out and walk this week.

    Happy Easter! We "rested" on Sunday and then helped with Sara's move on Monday. I'm glad Eastertide is 50 days ... I need more!

My weekend happily contained: -wearing the above woolens all at the same time without being hot -so many walks and taking in the changing leaves. -a leaf shower on Saturday-the wind swirled the leaves off the trees up in the air to float down -changing screen savers to autumn themes! -a craft fair where my husband and I say "we could make that", but we don't. -french fries at the craft fair -scrambled eggs and toast for dinner because we were lazy. -football season has descended in my house. he was in the front room watching whatever is on today -I sat in the family room and watched A Tree Grows in Brooklyn .   Now I want to read it again. -Oh! Hopefulness

  Good morning! This week has been busy with classes and routine doctor appointments. The arthritis doctor has a few tricks up her sleeve for some of my dry mouth issues (from my autoimmune disease - Sjorgren's Syndrome) that make me feel hopeful. What was the most important thing during that doctor visit is that I felt seen and heard. I am thankful for her and her team. Speaking of hopefulness, look at my daffodils sprouting up! Some of the daffodils are just starting and some already have a head start. I love winter, but I'm looking forward to spring. The crocuses seem to be taking their time this year, as well as the snowdrops (unless those pesky deer have eaten them, grr). Even though I am still knitting my baby blanket, I have gathered four skeins of potential socks to be and am dreaming of a wonderful sock frenzy cast on.

New Year

  Good morning! How are you? Happy New Year, may this year be full of blessings to all of you. Well now, I finally have an empty home after having our son, daughter in law, grandson and granddaughter here for six nights.  I am still experiencing fatigue and symptoms from the virus even though I am feeling better. It was a challenge hosting family while recovering. Also we babysat the kids overnight (!!) while my son and daughter in law went for little getaway. I am thankful and grateful my Aunt came over both days to help out with the granddaughter who never sleeps during the day. (snack-naps do not count!). They all left early in the morning, and while I was tired, sleep deprived and fatigued, I put away Christmas plus all the toys and doodads you need for babies. Today I am looking at a squeaky clean house. I am planning on reading books and falling asleep while doing so! My exercise routine is on hold as I slowly get better. Maybe next week I can muster up some energy for some yoga
