Weekends

How was your weekend? My weekend was spectacular - the most important news is that I made it to the diabolical section of my sudoku book. I do a puzzle during lunch and now that I'm in the diabolical range a puzzle takes me a few lunches to figure out. Delightful!!

Do you puzzle? If not you should, it's fun. I also do the NYT puzzles on a daily basis.

My husband started ripping off the deck floor because it was rotting and what was to be a simple job has turned into fixing many mistakes when it was built. Nothing ever goes to plan does it? I think he's happy out there.

I did a lot of reading and finished the 14th book (The Locked Room) in the Ruth Galloway series by Elly Griffiths and I have already started the 15th book which is also the last book in the series.

My knitting has been nice. I continue to knit for limited amounts of time because of the fantastically healing wrists.  Those precious knitting times are a joy. My wrists are a joy as well.

I've got a mighty long to do list this week and I'm ready to hit the ground running and tackling the tasks. Poor Frodo received a summer hair cut early last week and now it's freezing cold and I have to keep him bundled up.  Sometimes I join him under the blanket to heat up too.

  1. Congratulations on being diabolical! I'm afraid I would shy away from any puzzle labeled as such. I'm more of a crossword/word puzzle person. Hope you and Frodo stay warm until it warms up later this week.

  2. I like doing crossword puzzles (but don't do them often). I am rubbish at anything math oriented. Steve loves Soduku. Enjoy!

  3. Congratulations on being diabolical indeed! I love the spring springing (although this morning's frost was a bit of an upset!)

  4. I've tried Soduku. Sometimes they frustrate me then I tend to quit. LOL! I like crossword and word find. My hubby was outside working on our outside living space. It was too cold for me to be out but he was loving it. I hope your task list is easily completed and you can get on with the pleasures of life! :)

  5. I am impressed. Sudoku and I are not friends. I do love crosswords though. Hopefully your husband can correct all the mistakes on the deck. Sounds like a simple refresh job turned into a major remodel. I started working on the newest MKAL gnome last week. Still have a shawl to complete too. I have the Ruth Galloway series on my 'to read' list. Gotta love those cozy mysteries. Give Frodo a little loving from very warm Arizona.

  6. I do enjoy Soduko and the other NYTimes puzzles on a daily basis. SquareWord is fun too. Anything to keep my mind active. We may plant some Spring bulbs today!!

  7. I adore puzzles... Sudoku, Spider Solitaire, online Rummikub... I think that's what makes me a maker. I like to wend my way through spiderwebs of fabric and yarn and well... anything that I need to puzzle out!

  8. super impressed with your sudoku skills! I do a few of the NYT puzzles, but that's all words, not numbers. It was 42 degrees this morning when we walked and Lucy was chipper - more than I was for sure ... I can't wait to wash and put away the hats and mittens (and jackets - for both of us!)

  9. Wow, you must be good with Sudoku. I tried it once and gave up too easily I think. I'm not great at puzzles of any kind. Glad you had a nice weekend. See you again soon!

  10. Spring weather continues to be up and down here too. Poor little Frodo with his early warm weather do. You are certainly right about home repair projects. Always expect the unexpected.

  11. Well done on persevering with the daily puzzle. I tend to only do puzzles on holiday or during an illness. I like the logic puzzle book, where you ✅️ or ❌️ all the written clues first, then using logic work out the rest. One mistake can through it all out 🤔
Hope it warms up a bit for Frodo x

  14. I LOVE Puzzles! I also do the NYTimes puzzles every day. I love Sudukos too. Can I ask about your wrists with the knitting? Have you have any cortisone shots? My Rheumy said yesterday thought maybe I needed one in the CMC Joint of my Left hand. I just finished a large blanket for my daugther in law so I said I will wait and not crochet and only knit with baby yarn for now and see.

    1. I have not had any shots in my wrists - I am offered NSAIDS and if it stays I could do steroids which I avoid as much as possible. I find resting them works! (your profile with your name doesn't have an email attached so i can message you directly)

    3. I am going to try and fix!! My email is Vouty07@gmail.com....
I can't take too many NASIDS due to my BP meds......I am going to try and rest it and find projects now that include baby yarn or knitting and NOT crocheting....
