Happenings
Good morning! How are you??
We are into another heat wave, ugh. I am hiding in my house, enjoying the AC and the coolness. Thank goodness for that. Yesterday, I went to the local yarn shop and bought all the yarn for holiday sweaters for the three grandkids (one is yet to be born in September). I loved it! I love supporting a local business and I love to buy yarn.
I am amazed that I have a closet full of yarn and yet nothing matched up with the patterns I chose to knit this year. Hm... I believe it's because two of the grands wear super-wash wool or a wool acrylic blend for ease and I have very little to none of that in the stash. For the baby to be, I didn't have any red wool! It was all spoken for because I knit Christmas stockings for each grandchild.
I can honestly say this revelation is a joy. Who doesn't like to shop for yarn??
Late last week, we went to the conservatory to see their summer flower show before it ends. (Yay fall!). I enjoyed this exhibit, they are very creative with their themes. The outside gardens are my favorite especially the children's garden, Japanese garden and the roof top garden. Although the roof top garden is very very hot for me and I wilt by the time I'm back in the building.
We had a family reunion on my dad's side on Saturday. We reunion every other year, so it's nice to see cousins and catch up. The best part about the family reunion is that it's indoors and air conditioned (sweater weather AC).
I love the pictures from the conservatory. It looks like a cool place! You will be busy with all that knitting for your grands! Enjoy the week. See you again soon!
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures from the conservatory as well! Fantastic shots! I am so happy to be on the Nana Knitting Train with you! XO
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. I will be so glad when it cools down here. I had to do the grocery shopping at 6AM to beat the heat today.
ReplyDeleteKaren, was it the Pittsburgh Conservatory that you visited? The pictures are absolutely wonderful!
ReplyDeleteShopping for yarn to knit for the grands is so much fun! and yay for sweater weather AC (that's church for me every Sunday) AND those pink (begonia) flamingos.
