Happenings
Good morning! How are you?
Around here it's the same old happenings. I am completely over the summer weather and want the cold weather. My fingers are crossed the cold weather comes this week like it's supposed to arrive. Regardless of the temperatures, it looks like fall. I placed my winter bird feeder out and put the thistle feeder away. In less than an hour, woodpeckers and chickadees arrived! We bring in this bird feeder every single night because of our resident raccoon. The trick is to remember to bring it in at sunset.
I've knitted each night this past week and finished one of the Christmas stockings for our new grandson, three weeks old already! I'm eager to meet him. I also started knitting star Christmas ornaments. I have to be careful with my hands and not create a flare up, so I only knit for an hour on this project.
Holly loves to look outside and chirp at the chipmunks and birds. I wonder what she is thinking?
I have a digital library book that is due in seven days, Emily Wilde's Map of the Otherlands. It's a fun read and it is the second of a trilogy. (I am half way through).
The tree foliage colors might be drab from the lack of rain, but my mums are looking spectacular!! So happy to see them thrive in early autumn. The local grandkids are visit at our house at least twice a week, my husband and granddaughter were deadheading one of the mums. She loved it!!

I am with you on being over the 80 degree weather! Come on Fall!! Your mums are just glowing! Beautiful!

ReplyDeleteI know you are excited for the time to arrive when you get to meet your newest grandson.
I'm still waiting for it to cool off a bit more.
ReplyDeleteIt's just wrong to be so hot in October. I need soup and sweater season now! The mums are looking really great.
ReplyDeleteIt has been quite warm here in Montreal over the last couple of days where people are still needing the air conditioner. I love ❤️ Autumn 🍂
ReplyDeleteMonday the rain blew in and the temperature dropped today - dramatically so I hope that weather is headed your direction. Sometimes the same old happenings are the best.
ReplyDeleteYour mums are spectacular. I have some that same color! Our weekend was very chilly and rainy. Fall is definitely here in Utah. I hope that you have a great week and that you get some nice, cool fall weather. See you again soon!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Holly (and the mums too). I love watching Mabel chitter to the birds. Can't wait for you to meet your newest grandchild!!
ReplyDeleteThe mums are beautiful. I haven't picked up my knitting needles in quite a long while. You're making me want to bring them out again! :-)
