Easy Folded Poncho

Image
I never thought that this poncho would be finished after knitting what seemed like miles of stockinette stitch which I wanted to do and then after 12 inches wondered what was in my mind. However this turned out so beautiful! Of course I was having camera issues. My SD card would not unlock and I had to find a different one to use. Then on my Mac the image resizer program that I've used faithfully for years quit working and I had to find another app to replace it. So I'm not sure why the photos are a teeny bit blurry (could have been me and my excitement in photographing...). I'm also trying to figure out where is the best place for photographing at this house. So much to learn! This poncho is for my daughter in law for her birthday and I am sure she will love it since she picked the pattern and the wool.  This finished project makes so much more mental room for my upcoming Christmas knitting projects.   I have three projects going at the same time and I am mostly working on the baby blanket which for me is addictive to keep adding repeats. The poncho for my daughter in law is coming along, I give this project at least one hour of knitting time a day.  This shawl have been on the needles forever, well it feels like forever. I give this project about an hour every day as well. I love how it's turning out! What are you working on this week?

Over the weekend I was so lucky to be IN A YARN STORE. It's been over a year. We were in a neighboring town doing some shopping with the kids last weekend. My daughter in law fell in love with a knitted poncho sample displayed right when you entered. So of course I bought the pattern and some lovely wool to start a new project for her while I sit in my new house. There is miles of easy stockinette stitch. I'll have to scrounge around for the yarn tag that I misplaced when I balled up the skein in my super messy studio room. That room is beyond repair. I have too much stuff and no where to put things. That is another post for another day, right? I finished this shawl weeks ago but had no where to block it because of the move. I love how this turned out and it will be a Christmas gift, I think. I've folded it up and when late fall arrives I'll figure out who get it, me or someone else. I am behind in my Christmas knitting. What are you working on this week?
