London Mitts

I finished these mitts last weekend and now I am just waiting for some cold weather to wear them.  A knitting friend gave me two skeins of lovely wool from England andI knew right away that I would be making something for my hands.  This pattern has been in my library for quite some time waiting for the perfect yarn to arrive.  I highly recommend this pattern.  The directions are easy to follow and the results are quite lovely.  Dare I say it would make a fantastic Christmas gift??

I had lots of fun with the timer setting of my camera and no one at home thought I was a little crazy.  What we do for photography and a blog post.  Notice the awesome pottery mug--love!

The wool is very tweed"y" and I know it's going to be super warm when I wear them.

Today was the first morning I turned on the heat.  Yesterday I wore another scarf and it was pure bliss. I am positive in a matter of weeks that these mitts will be worn :)

  2. Beautiful!! The yarn is gorgeous. A pair of mitts is on the list of gifts for me to make this year. And you've provided me with yet ANOTHER beautiful pattern I'm going to need to choose from!!! (I only need to make 1 pair as a gift.....but my hands could use a pair too!)

  3. great results with the timer!!!! (I've had less stellar results when I've tried, but then, I've usually had an audience---thinking I'm doing it just for their entertainment!!!) Love the mitts---great color, too!!!

  4. I had to giggle when I read this Karen. I always long for woolly scarves and jumpers in the summer and then in the winter I can't stop thinking about summer dresses.

These mitts are really gorgeous...I love the picot edging.

Your photo turned out really well...I must read the instructions for my camera try to use the timer too...no one ever seems to have time to take photos of me...

Hope you get to wear your mitts very soon.

  22. Yay, London mitts :)
I've been doing funny things to get a nice photo; these turned out lovely!
We had one day this week when we turned the heating on. Funnily the husband seems to be always freezing these days, while usually I am the one turning the heating on. Maybe it's the woolly cardies I've been knitting, while his jumper is still waiting for its sleeves... oops.
