Weekends

My weekend

-violets in multitude in my back yard and the photo can't quite capture all of them
-a full day with my husband visiting a local craft fair
-eating french fries
-taking in the sights and sounds of spring
-buying flowers for the garden without a clue of where they will go
-doors opened-fresh air inside the house
-enjoying being unplugged mostly-becoming a habit possibly
-chatting with the kids
-knitting on three projects and savoring each one for it's uniqueness
-listening to the birds singing sweetly in the morning
-broccoli thai noodles with peanut sauce (again!!)-slurpy good :)

And now I'm sipping my green tea and settling down for some more knitting. How was your weekend?

  1. Ohhhhh...it sounds like a weekend filled with such sweet loveliness!

Your knitting makes up for the lack in my weekend (freelance work has taken over...)

May your week be just as lovely as your weekend :)

  3. I've been following you for a few months now and thought you might like to know that you have inspired me to finally learn to knit. I have wanted to learn for awhile (years, really), and seeing all the beautiful things you have made in that short time was the big push I needed. This weekend I took a lesson at a lovely yarn shop I go to regularly. I love it! I'll keep you posted on my progress . . .

  5. What a beautiful weekend! Those violets are so happy, a cheerful spring picture for sure! I'm actually making the thai recipe this week! I'll have to let you know what the kids think of it, send good vibes ;)

  6. I thought I was the only one who bought flowers (sometimes by the trunkload) without a thought as to where they will live!!!! Weather hasn't really cooperated much lately----either rain, or back in the 30s. I'm afraid we're going to go from 30-40 to 90. I just HATE when that happens!!!!!!!
It was dinner club weekend for me....quilters left (it was also quilt week--we have 2 appraisers who stay with us) and a dozen people came for dinner! (the full count number is 20.....so I got off really easy!!!) I'm ready to kick back!

  7. Sounds like a thoroughly restful weekend. I love those violets. Unplugging is such a good idea. Trying to think of how to get my 16-year-old to buy in! Enjoy the week ahead!

  8. Sounds like a lovely weekend. I'm working at unplugging too - I find it so easy to get sucked in and just waste so much time looking for something to look at!

  9. You always seem to have such wonderfully peaceful weekends. I can't decide if I am inspired by them, or just envious... :)

  10. Your violets are so pretty.

I am finding the more I am unplugged the more I get accomplished around home. With summer fast approaching and all the vegetables needing harvested I am really thinking about cutting way back on my computer time.

And now I'm craving french fries.

  11. I am loving all the colors after the grey cold winter. The hyacinths are blooming in the front yard and just scream "Spring is FINALLY here!".

  18. Oh, my...craft fairs and french fries. That sounds kind of wonderful ;) And you had that same lovely weather that we enjoyed (it's back today!) This weather literally quadruples our living space as we spent as much time as we can outside...even if for a bit of reading or yarnwork. Or escaping..I admit to that, as well! Have a great week :)
