Requested Mitts

I finished knitting these mitts for my daughter a few days ago.  Do you remember this sweater?  Well I had one very lonely orphaned skein left over from that project.  When my daughter put in the request for mitts, I was already tripping up the stairs to my studio to dig down in my worsted weight basket, snapping a photo, texting her and asking "is this color okay?"

Thankfully she said "yes" and the cast on begun.  The pattern is susie's reading mitts and the ravelry project page is here.  As you know I love to knit with lace weight or fingering weight yarns, but I enjoyed immensely how quickly these mitts knit up because they are worsted weight.  Instant knitting gratification!!

  2. Those are lovely, the only mitts I have done so far just had a hole for the thumb, easy peasy. Am I up to knitting an actual thumb part? Not sure ....

  6. Really pretty! Mitts and yarn colour. I never know what to call that kind of greeny wheaty colour (see what I mean!) but it's a favourite with me :)

  7. Oh, just love these! In my favorites now, maybe for my daughters? I know they would flip over these, if my knitting skills are worthy. Your daughters hands will be cozy and warm once the cold weather arrives!

  20. So pretty! I love the pattern detail and the color. Mustard is very in these days. I feel silly saying that, but it reminds me of a conversation I had with Eric a few weeks ago. He was asking me which sunglasses to buy, black ones or metallic. I told him I liked the black ones better, and he said, "Really? The metallic ones are so on trend!" And then we both laughed like crazy:)
