Weekending

This is the road more traveled, I've seen this road five times this week because I've been trying to walk almost every day as long as the weather cooperates.  My aim for the weekend was to do "nothing" and by that I mean enjoy staying in town without travel plans.  This plan worked and I was renewed by my "nothingness".  So my weekend was:

-a dinner out with my husband, talking, laughing and eating
-a dinner out with a dear friend, talking, laughing and eating
-some knitting, reading and a wee bit of laundering
-a date with my camera about the property
-having phone chats with both of the kids throughout the weekend
-doing crossword puzzles and sudokus, successfully!
-knitting on my socks, getting close to the heel flap construction

how was your weekend?

  1. I love your new header, so pretty!! Our weekend started off with a family visit Friday night. Sadly they only stayed one night, but we had fun together. :-) We did get a few things accomplished (yard work and house work mainly) but there was also time for knitting and reading. I'm finally back to a "real" project and I'm loving every knitting minute. :-)

  2. Our weekend consisted of driving in rain, in heavy traffic to spend the weekend with our daughter, son-in-law and grandson. Being with them, just spending time together under the same roof made the trip SO worthwhile. Saturday we visited a consignment shop that was filled with antiques and vintage! Many of the pieces took me back to when I was a child in awe of my grandparents! We traveled home Sunday in the rain with a bit of sunshine thrown in! Glad you had a good weekend, too, Karen.

I love your new header! It speaks totally of autumn.

  4. Gorgeous photos. I'd love to walk down that road with you Karen. Ours was a homely weekend too, except for produce shopping that took us down a similar road. A nice pottering one, baking bread, washing and sorting things out...Lots of reading and hand sewing too which was the best bit of all.
Enjoy the rest of the week.

  6. A weekend of nothing - BLISS. Hard to do. Love your new header autumn has arrived. Good on your for walking each day - our weather is very spring like so I'm not out on my bike in such high winds and rain ... but soon it will be summer and winter for you so you'll be snatching the odd days to get outside and walk.
    Love Leanne

  11. Sounds like a great weekend! Mine was running, watercolor class, market, drama from the New England sports teams, husband arriving home (finally! yay!), hay ride + corn maze. It was a gorgeous fall weekend, too, weather-wise.

  12. That just sounds so glorious, and especially in the cozy fall weather. Somehow fall seems like the happiest time of year to me. Glad we get to enjoy it anew each time!
