Weekends

Can you see her?  She's hiding at the edge of our woods.  Frodo and I were walking about when I spied her.  We had the ultimate stare down - even when I snapped the photo. Oh how I wish I had my big camera!!  As soon as hunting season starts the deer find sanctuary in our woods :)

My weekend:

-exchanging gifts with dear dear friends-I'm never too old for that giddy anticipation!
-casting off and blocking that bulky cowl, look out fingering weight here I come
-simple soup and grilled cheese dinner that reminded us of our newlywed days and limited cooking skills
-watching The Help and wanting to reread the book
-chatting with my kids Saturday and Sunday
-starting the Master Menu Plan for when the family is all together, I even took inventory of the freezer and cupboards-I feel organized :)
-both my husband and I were belting out "here comes Santa Claus" with our Elvis Presley voices ALL day yesterday after hearing the song on the radio.  I don't think either of us were very good but we had fun trying.

how was your weekend?

  3. In one word: busy. But, it was busy in a very good way. :-) We went out with friends on Friday night, took the girls to see a movie and look at Christmas lights on Saturday and bought and decorated the tree on Sunday. There was also some cooking, baking, sewing and knitting going on, so everybody was happy.

  4. Oh she is beautiful! I love to see them in the yard. I'm waiting for Mowgli to spot one of them. I'm not too sure what he's going to do! Our weekend was fun but very busy. Looking forward to a somewhat quiet week.

  8. I had to giggle at your Elvis voices. It's a good job you had your phone she's so cute. It's a good feeling when you get the menu organised. I'm preparing for lots of sets of visitors over the next few weeks.
Our weekend plans changed when Hannah came home unexpectedly...which was lovely and made us slow down a bit and start some Christmas preparations.

  13. grilled cheese on sourdough with tomato basil soup is a favorite around here -- one of our easy go-to meals when time is short! We've enjoyed visits from the local deer 'round here, too. ;)
