Weekends

My weekend was restful.  When the snow started to drop, plans were placed on hold.  A dinner out became an impromptu dinner in.  I explored the freezer and unearthed some forgotten shrimp and with a lovely risotto created a meal probably better than any restaurant could create.  However a restaurant has dishwashers....

I also-
-watched a few episodes of Sherlock and am sad I have only one episode left :(
-watched more Dr. Who
-visited the natural food store who had a sale on chocolate so guess who has had a bite every day?
-feverishly worked on my shawl-getting close to casting off!
-did not finish reading a book
-I cleaned and scrubbed and sat enjoyed the labors
-chatted with both kids
-crossed off items on my to do list, then added items on my to do list
-menu planned

how was your weekend?

  1. More snow?!!! You lucky duck. I think spring is here, we are having temps in the mid 70's all week.
I wonder if there is ever a time when the to do list is finished, mine never is.
Enjoy a beautiful, peace filled Monday.

  2. That prawn risotto sounds delicious. Two of my favourite things. I love Sherlock too. It's a shame there aren't more episodes. I suppose Benedict Cumberbatch is doing so many other films and plays and things that he doesn't have time to do any more.

Like Tracey it seems more like spring than winter here today. It doesn't feel like we've had a proper one until we get snow. I thought I saw a few snow flakes this morning. I was getting all excited until I realised our that next door neighbours were having a new kitchen fitted and the parts were wrapped in polystyrene packaging. Little particles were blowing in the wind! Oh well I can pretend...

  3. Love the way you've decorated! You sound like me...mark things off the to do list and then add things back on it! :) It sounds as if you had a lovely weekend, all in all. We had snow again yesterday. We have a couple of feet of snow now...hopefully some of it will melt this week with temps predicted to be in the 50's.

  4. I know you love the snow, but I am glad ours melted away. We had a beautiful sunny day yesterday and were able to get some yard work accomplished. Other than that we had a nice weekend at home. Girls were able to be outside, I was able to get a good (10 mile) walk in with friends, and of course there was knitting. Finished and blocked my sweater. :-)

  7. there is something about cleaning and scrubbing and then sitting down to take in all that order, isn't there? truth be told, that feeling of surveying it all when done is always my motivation when i clean ;-)

  9. Glad to hear that your weekend was good - even if plans had to change due to the weather. At least you were flexible. I hope you have a great week!

  10. I may have to start watching Dr. Who since I'm knitting the Dr. Who scarf for a friend.

  11. Everyone is watching Dr Who and I have no idea what it is. Sounds like a lovely weekend. I have been having little nibbles of chocolate every day too, but that is a normal occurrence around here :)

  12. I also am a daily chocolate nibbler! Keep me sane. Sort of.

  13. We had a relatively quiet weekend... while trying to contain the frantic feeling of getting ready to move... the week AFTER vacation with the Little Men. Not the best timing... but, I know it will all work out. I just hope we are not forgetting anything! blessings ~ tanna
