Hellos and Goodbyes


Are you ready for a cute post filled with fluff?


Before you all get excited, I did not adopt two adorable puppies, but my dear friend did!   Last week the big day arrived for my friend and her family to pick up their golden doodle puppies.  They have been dogless for about seven months and every couple of days I would receive a text about how many days were left for the big day.


As you know, the saddest event in owning a pet is saying the 'goodbyes' if only they could live as long as we do.  However, the happiest event is saying the 'hellos'.  That new puppy smell brings so much joy!!


Both of these sweeties just finished eating a meal so one was groggy and the other had a bit of spunk.  We sat in lawn chairs just watching them frolic and play.  Simple pleasures.  I was thankful to be included in their family joy.


Today I have a full house and we are going to celebrate the Fourth with lots of food.  Have a lovely weekend everyone!

    makes you want to run right out to the shelter and adopt!!! (Fred would have a FIT----he loves being an only child!) Have a great 4th-----fun, food, and friendships----can't beat that.

    WEll put. love the beginning days of a new pup in the house. I'd want two the next time as well.

    good you clarified at the outset that these weren't your pups because i immediately got excited for you and frodo! (although maybe frodo is happy not to have the house overrun by two little puppies ;) so fun you get to enjoy the newness and cuteness of little puppies without the accompanying tasks!

    I've never been a dog person but I think I am slowly being won over. My goodness, they are adorable!

    Thank you so much for the puppy cuteness.

    Yeah, being the owner of, not one but two, elderly pets, I am NOT looking forward to the day I have to say goodbye to them.

    I could not get over how much the pups looked like Rufus Ignatius, the Cockapoopoo, my family had while I was growing up.

Hopefulness

  Good morning! This week has been busy with classes and routine doctor appointments. The arthritis doctor has a few tricks up her sleeve for some of my dry mouth issues (from my autoimmune disease - Sjorgren's Syndrome) that make me feel hopeful. What was the most important thing during that doctor visit is that I felt seen and heard. I am thankful for her and her team. Speaking of hopefulness, look at my daffodils sprouting up! Some of the daffodils are just starting and some already have a head start. I love winter, but I'm looking forward to spring. The crocuses seem to be taking their time this year, as well as the snowdrops (unless those pesky deer have eaten them, grr). Even though I am still knitting my baby blanket, I have gathered four skeins of potential socks to be and am dreaming of a wonderful sock frenzy cast on.

New Year

  Good morning! How are you? Happy New Year, may this year be full of blessings to all of you. Well now, I finally have an empty home after having our son, daughter in law, grandson and granddaughter here for six nights.  I am still experiencing fatigue and symptoms from the virus even though I am feeling better. It was a challenge hosting family while recovering. Also we babysat the kids overnight (!!) while my son and daughter in law went for little getaway. I am thankful and grateful my Aunt came over both days to help out with the granddaughter who never sleeps during the day. (snack-naps do not count!). They all left early in the morning, and while I was tired, sleep deprived and fatigued, I put away Christmas plus all the toys and doodads you need for babies. Today I am looking at a squeaky clean house. I am planning on reading books and falling asleep while doing so! My exercise routine is on hold as I slowly get better. Maybe next week I can muster up some energy for some yoga
