This weekend, I am sharing with you the pretty phlox in my back garden.  This year the flowers have grown high and quite pretty!  I love the burst of color they give to my otherwise overly green view.

My weekend thus far has been:

-driving a few hours one way to move out our daughter.  Two cars, four people and a flurry of activity.
-Subway sandwiches eaten on the floor of the empty apartment-reminding me of my earlier moving days
-driving back home to dump off some laundry and clothes while she visits us
-driving an hour in the opposite direction to move in all of the belongings in the cars
-a lovely dinner out in her new to be town, burgers and fries.
-driving home with two cars and four people.  We have yet to shop for some pieces of furniture in the coming weeks
-being sore from head to toe, having a mini flare of my RA from cleaning and bending one too many times

Today I'll be taking it easy, just church and laundry.  I am predicting a wee nap if the conditions are right. Some knitting perhaps and crossing off one move off of the list.

How was your weekend?

  1. Our cold and rainy weekend means not much going on here. Good luck with all that moving and furniture hunting. Hope your RA calms down with some rest.

  2. Exciting times for your daughter and for you. Hopefully today you'll be able to relax and get some rest.

  3. Love the phlox- I am the same color growing in my garden. Sounds like a lot of moving- both in cars and with boxes. Hope she settle sin well in her new environment. Have a wonderful Sunday Karen.

  4. Oh I remember the days of moving children! Prayers for you RA. Rest my friend!

  5. Moving, not relaxing at all! Hope you get some knitting time in. I sent my eldest to sleepaway camp for the first time, sniff.http://wp.me/p4dfW9-lE

  6. Sounds like a great evening to me church and a nap. I remember the days of moving my daughters about whilst at university, I am so glad that's over.

  7. That was a busy weekend, hope today was as you planned, relaxing and that you got that nap in. Hope she enjoys her new town, and settles in well.

  8. I hope you got your nap and that the RA quietens down.
That's the second time I've seen phlox this weekend, our friends had it on their dinner table yesterday, the scent was gorgeous.

  9. i'm exhausted just reading about this move! Hope you have just a teeny reprieve before the next one. Take care of yourself....maybe a nice glass of tea, a swing, and your camera.......to capture a few more moments in the garden. Gosh, that phlox is gorgeous. I had some white ones in mine earlier in the season and they magically disappeared. ????

  10. Sounds like a wonderful weekend and a lovely time spent with family :) I love your photos, gorgeous flowers!

  11. Oh my, you have been so busy! I second Steph and please take care of yourself. I hope you had a relaxing day today . I took the whole weekend and was kind to myself, it was nice.
Oh looking for furniture can be so fun, enjoy.

  12. You did it!!! Moving them out is always a big deal! SOunds like it went well.
Our weekend had some drama too: zach got bit by a dog in Mexico. We are trying to determine if he needs rabies shots and should come home…….
    Im knitting a baby sweater

  13. I got tired just reading your post! Hope your day today was more restful!

  14. Congratulations on getting half of the moves taken care of! I was on my own for most of the weekend (which was a nice change of pace), and included a surprise visit from an old college friend! http://www.spritewrites.net/?p=5372

  15. I love the flowers. Hope you got to relax a bit on Sunday. We had a busy, eventful weekend that included meeting a new family member! Enjoy the week ahead!

  16. Your phlox is outstanding! And like many of the others, I hope you were able to get some rest on Sunday after a busy start to your weekend.

I'm attempting to revive my blog and used to (occasionally) join in on "weekending" with Amanda, so I hope it's OK for me to jump in here with my adventures this weekend: Vacation Weekends Are the Best Weekends.

  17. Moving day is still a couple of weekends away for us so I have all of that to look forward to ;0) Ours was a big birthday weekend! http://adeolainwonderland.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/the-big-birthday-weekend.html

  18. I'm confessing to a wee nap yesterday afternoon myself... hee hee
