Weekends and a Festival

Weekends are for memory making,
relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days.
If you would like, please share your weekend moments
in the comment section with a link to your blog.

On Saturday, my daughter and I drove to the northern part of Pennsylvania for the Endless Mountain Fiber Festival.  I did not attend last year and cannot remember why, probably because due a schedule conflict.  This year I cleared the calendar and made the long trip feeling lucky that my daughter was my driving buddy and yarn enabling buddy.

I enjoyed the festival but boy oh boy was it humid and hot.  I enjoyed seeing the animals and of course the wools and fiber set out for all to see and touch.

I also met another blog friend briefly.  I was nearing the end of my stay and feeling a bit unwell from the weather (does not go with RA).  I memorized her face from her blog and promised her to carry a red jacket.  Luckily my face recognition skills are excellent and I saw her first.  I met Alyssa from All is Grace and her three daughters.  The wide world gets a little smaller and friendlier through this blog of mine.  I loved meeting her.  Of course I did not think to take a photo even though my camera was around my neck.....getting old. I was in the moment and living life!

A festival is never complete without the french fries.  Yum!  Before you ask, yes I did buy some yarns and I will share them later this week.

How was your weekend?

  1. Oh goodness, that first photo made me drool. I am going to my very first fiber festival in October, I had no idea we had any around here, but there is one about 2.5 hours away, and we are going. Can't wait! Looks like a great festival, and how wonderful to meet a blog friend in real life. I have met three in real life, and it is always like meeting up with an old friend.

I am playing along this week :) http://www.motheringwithmindfulness.com/2014/09/our-weekend.html

Have the most wonderful start to your week Karen.

  2. I think you had one of the best weekends ever Karen! I have never been to a fiber festival, they aren't really popular around here, but it's on my list. And getting to meet another blogger friend, how wonderful. French fries and yarn too? Yes, you had a great weekend.

  11. I think it's so cool you have good face recognition! It sounds like a lovely time, despite your RA. Those french fries look divine. Looking forward to seeing your loot later!

  12. How fun!! Going to a fiber festival, buying new yarn and meeting a blogging friend - what could be better! We hosted a bunch of friends for an end of summer bash on Saturday and had a blast. We had so much fun, we didn't take a single photo. Yesterday friends from out of town got here and we'll have them with us for a few days. Coupled with swim practice, volleyball games, awards ceremonies we are incredibly busy right now.

  13. I want to go to a fiber festival. We have Yarn Along the Rockies coming up next weekend. It's a lot of driving to shops all around the front range to get your "passport" stamped to enter the grand prize. My brother is coming home for the weekend and as much as I love yarn, I want to see my bro!

  14. Now, aside from the heat and humidity, that sounds like a near perfect weekend! I might need a little sweet to go along with my fries. ;) I'll be looking forward to seeing your booty from the trip! blessings ~ tanna

  15. The Fiber Festival I went to had nothing on your fun festival. Not sure what I'm most envious of, your yarn or your french fries!
