Weekends

Weekends are for memory making,
relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days.

in the comment section with a link to your blog.

My weekend was BOSTON.  Yup, we went to visit our son and spent the better part of our Saturday walking about Boston seeing the sights, walking part of the freedom trail.  I loved seeing him and what made the weekend better is our daughter went with us.

I have sore feet and joints but luckily for me I take medicine for that and a few days of rest I should be good as new.  I'm happy to be home sweet wonderful home.  You know I'm a homebody and thrive with the same old same old.  I'm looking forward to my cheerios tomorrow.

So this weekend I'll share some aspects you might not know about me, but then maybe you do:

-I gave a friendly hello to anyone with a cute dog, especially if they were just standing there.  I met a miniature schnauzer named Dolly from Australia!  She loves the squirrels here in America, I think Frodo and her would be fast friends.

-I met a 12 week old chihuahua named Ricky, he was shivering because he was cold and a wee pup.  He was adorable and I wondered if Frodo would "hunt" him.....I hope not.

-I met a schnoodle (sorry no name) that was super fluffy and adorable in the elevator of my hotel, which happens to be very dog friendly!  Made me miss my dog but not the outside duties.

-And just so you don't think I care about the humans, whenever I saw a family taking a family photo, I walked up to the photographer who was not in the photo and offered my assistance.  That is spreading sunshine all over the place.  However, I don't ask what there name is or what breed :)

I loved my weekend but what I did not care for was the waiting endlessly in traffic to drive a few miles (harvard square.....), the high price of parking but cheaper than public transportation, and waiting in line for the restroom every single place I went!

How was your weekend?

  2. Boston and your son, just wonderful Karen! I have a almost ten year old Chihuahua who weighs ten pounds, but thinks he is a Great Dane. He came home in Mike's shirt pocket, he was so tiny.
Enjoy your cheerios tomorrow morning and a salad for lunch right? :)

  6. What a lovely weekend! I have never been to Boston, but it looks amazing. I love American history so Boston sounds like the place for me. I had a busy weekend ~ a women's conference that lasted most of Saturday, then a little shopping date with hubby. I am still trying to recuperate from getting our youngest moved out and on to the next adventure in his life. Hope to be stopping in for visits regularly again! Have a great week!

  16. Some times my kids get after me because when we go some place where there are dogs, I try to talk to them too. They (my kids) think I am "one of those crazy old ladies"! :)

  17. Hi Karen! Such great photos! My sister lives in Boston, and I'm going to visit her in a few weeks. I really like how accessible the city is. I live outside of a big city myself, and I find Boston to be much easier to get around in. Can't speak for the parking though. We usually take the 'T'.

I'm glad you had such a good time. I hope your tootsies are on the mend!
    Blessings,
    Ceil

  20. Funnily enough I was in Boston exactly a year ago yesterday. It was our last day on our road trip before we flew back home.

This weekend I spent a lot of time finishing my Estuary (finally...) and I was also outside quite often because it was beautiful, warm weather.

  23. That's so nice to offer to have the whole family in the picture, as someone who only has a few of those precious photos, this is something I should probably offer more often as well as ask for myself ;0) Ours had a poorly mama and so some quiet crafting...

  24. Hi,

Recently discovered your blog via Stephanie's Millefeuilles blog.

Love that you formally meet the dogs you see when out and about! Whenever I see a dog, I always want to meet it and stroke it but never think to ask for its name - English reserve, I think! We had a quiet weekend and enjoyed a lovely walk in the local woods, taking in the autumn colours and delicious scents. Also met several dogs, including the most adorable golden coloured long earred puppy who wriggled like crazy :)

  26. You did spread some beautiful Sunshine around!! I love it when strangers offer to get the family photos. So nice and very much appreciated. =) One of my favorite memories is of being in Boston on Halloween SEVERAL years ago and seeing a full boat of "witches" with their pointy hats rowing in unison down the river!! Absolutely one of my favorite running memories! blessings ~ tanna

  27. Thanks for sharing the photos, beautiful memories! I've been to Boston once and spent most of the day in traffic... I'd love to go again but first find a way to avoid sitting in the car this much.
Funny, I'm also always the one offering to take pictures for strangers, took a few last weekend when we went hiking :)
