Weekends

Weekends are for memory making,
relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days.
If you would like, please share your weekend moments
in the comment section with a link to your blog.

Did you have a good weekend?  I sure did.  This was a do nothing weekend, meaning nothing was on the schedule.  These do nothing weekends seem to be fewer and fewer.  I'm not complaining because we see our kids or friends so I'm quite happy with the busyness.  But, boy oh boy, a do nothing weekend is quite decadent these days.

So here is how I did nothing:

-dinner out on Friday with my husband along with some....ahem....donuts for dessert
-finishing up Mad Men tv show on Netflix
-Saturday was spent all morning exploring our options on what to do on our do nothing day
-started a pair of mitts for another gift, I swear this is the last present :)
-we opted to shop locally for a few hours
-so far today I've:  been to Mass, cleaned the house and did some laundry, talked to both kids
-we had homemade pizza for dinner (YUM)
-I'll be catching up with all of you tonight and tomorrow

How was your weekend?

  1. A do-nothing weekend sounds like PURE DECADENCE to me! Oh, how I long for one of those... SOON!! ;) You are so industrious with your gift making; I'm feeling hopelessly behind with my knitting this year.

dreaming... of that wonderful do nothing weekend...

  2. Do-nothing weekends are the best! I'm glad you fit in so many fun things. My weekend had lots of yard work, laundry, grocery shopping, and cooking, but tonight is reserved for knitting. Hope you have a good week ahead!

  3. It looks like winter's arrived where you are.

Do nothing days never really seem to happen here, how I wish they did sometimes!

  4. I had a do nothing weekend too and love it; I have a feeling this will be the last one for a while so each moment was not taken for granted. I am very proud of myself, I worked on knits that were already on the
needles even though I really wanted to cast on something new.
    Have a great week.

  8. There's nothing better, and rarer, than a do nothing weekend. You're right that weekends filled with family and friends are great, but every once in awhile it's nice to just settle in and have the luxury of time. It sounds like you and your husband made the most of it! :-)

  9. I love do-nothing weekends! I'm glad you had a great weekend! My weekend was a working weekend, while I worked as a nurse in the hospital on saturday and sunday, my partner worked on our house with my dad. They've been installing our ventilation circuit. I did make progress on my november socks after work.

  13. Sounds like you were still quite busy on your do nothing weekend. :-) We took the girls to the botanical garden Friday night for their walk through tour of the "Galaxy of Lights". It was quite cold, but we managed to stay warm with Gluehwein ( a German spiced wine traditionally served at Christmas markets), coffee and hot chocolate. Saturday we went to a friends house to watch some football and Sunday was spent at home. It was a good weekend!

  14. Karen, I like your do nothing weekends! Even though you got out and did some things, wasn't it nice to not be tied to a schedule? I think that is the thing I enjoy the most about those kinds of weekends.

We had a quiet weekend here, also.http://jesusweadorethee.blogspot.com/2014/11/weekending_47.html

  17. My weekend, although not a do-nothing, was a not-have -to-do-much, which is exactly what I needed. I was able to catch up on some things that had been pushed aside for much too long!

  21. I also had a do nothing weekend this weekend and it was absolutely wonderful. I do like to do stuff in the weekends normally, but sometimes just doing absolutely nothing at all is bliss.

Nothing weekends are soooo fun. Having weekends off from being a nurse is really appreciated. Im still pinching myself that i'm off on weekends

  23. Hi Kathy, your weekend was lovely, doing nothing is the best! I can't have the full weekend doing nothing, but at least Sunday's morning I try to do nothing for the others but something for myself.
