Hearts, Sheep and Sunshine

My sister made those heart puffs last year for me, aren't they cute?  That sheep, whose name is Gertie, was a lovely gift from a knitting friend.  She celebrates how many years we all have been knitting together in our knitting group.  I love my little sheep and she looks grand on my table.

This weekend we will be experiencing another arctic air mass, poor Frodo I just don't think he can tremble any more than he already does.  He's longing for those summer days of rabbit chasing and sunbathing.  So far, I'm good with the weather.  When we get to the sloppiness of April well then I might be grumbling a bit.

February sunshine and longer days make for a happy home.  I walk into the family room or the living room and notice the brightness of the day, sunbeams playing across a sofa or end table.  In a few short weeks, snow storms will melt as quickly as the arrive and birds will be busy singing and nest building.  All Good.

The orange sweater is drying, I still need to sew on some buttons and do the photo shoot, hopefully by next week.  For the past few days, I've been contemplating a cowl with aran weight yarn.  Yup, pretty darn chunky for my tastes but the thought of being done in a day has me mesmerized. It's the little things in life, right?

Have a great weekend!

  5. I am enjoying the extra light and sunshine too Karen. The only problem with sunshine this time of year is that is usually means it is pretty darn cold outside, and it is! I love your hearts. Enjoy your weekend.

  9. I'm all about being ready for spring. I've been hearing Robins chirping around our home since the weekend. No kidding! It was 9 degrees here this morning and I heard them! I've also been noticing that the grass is beginning to green up under the snow.

Love little Gertie. She is adorable!

  16. Oh it is the little things in life FOR SURE!!! Your heart puffs are darling. Fireman has been really good about appreciating the sun setting a bit later each day. I think going to Florida helped us both quite a bit

  21. I hope you have a wonderful weekend too Karen. It sounds like there will be lots of cosy knitting. We still haven't had any snow worth mentioning even though I ordered plenty of yarn and books in advance and stocked the cupboard and freezer ready to get snowed in. The cowl sounds good, when it's cold I live in a lovely warm icelandic lopi yarn one that keeps me toasty.
    Happy valentines day,
