  1. Our weekend held: one daughter away for the weekend and one daughter at home, grilling most of our food since it's still in the 90's here, a two hour "walk" on Saturday morning and hopefully another one on Monday morning, cleaning out the chicken coop, cleaning of the porch, mowing the yard, quick dips in the pool to cool off and of course knitting and reading. :-)

  2. Sounds just lovely Karen. Our weekend included a trip to the market, time in the kitchen putting food by, meals outside (it is still hot and humid here), embracing the early morning darkness, quiet nights reading and knitting, and the final preparations to begin our homeschooling year tomorrow.

Wishing you a lovely week ahead. xo

  3. We had an amazing thunderstorm here yesterday; our drought is definitely over, but hoping for a nice day tomorrow for a picnic out back. Today was church and saying goodbye to a favorite pastor who's headed for a new church; they are lucky to have her!

I'm so sorry about the allergies Karen, we have had so much rain here I don't think
anything is blowing in my air, but the mosquitos are pretty big.

  14. This weekend I welcomed home my husband, who spent the previous week hiking 58 miles on the Appalachian Trail in Maine. He was tired and happy to be home! : ) We have been taking it easy all weekend, I don't dare suggest going for a walk for a couple of days, LOL! Have a great week, Karen!

  17. Karen, sounds like a lovely weekend. I love the thought of coffee in the darkness and the light shadows. We spent a lot of time with Trevor {of course} and just time at home this weekend, which was lovely. Hope you are having a good week so far xx

  18. How lovely, and it looks like fall us on its way already! Hurray for more wedding cake too! I wish we had taken more of ours, but it somehow was left behind in all the chaos. It wasn't exactly the right flavors either, but that was just one of those little things that goes wrong that the guests never know, and we were too happy to care:)
