Weekends

Weekends are for memory making,
relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days.
If you would like, please share your weekend moments
in the comment section with a link to your blog.

This weekend our plans were altered and so I found myself with an entire Saturday with NO plans.  So you wonder what did I do, right? Well I'll share :)

In the morning I knit while reading three short stories by Flannery O'Connor then read some more from one of my magazines, while continuing to knit away.  Frodo and I went for a walk with a jacket on and some mitts (me not him...).  In the afternoon, I read a bit from the book that will not prop open so I couldn't knit.

I added a few rows on my sweater, then undid a row, grr...rookie mistake on my part, I forgot to do the every six row thing.  Dinner was tomato soup with grilled cheese!  Yum.  I also had an apple with ample peanut butter on each chuck I cut up.  It's the new taste treat for me I guess.  Way healthier than donuts so my body is thankful.

In the evening, I watched three Gilmore Girls while knitting on my never ending blanket.  I've vowed to work on it at least one HOUR a night....let's get that project done!!

So you can see my day was filled with:  food, knitting, walking and reading.  Not bad at all.

Friends were over this afternoon for knitting and talking (and more food).  When my company left, we had Chinese take out which is beyond delicious, I'm filled to the brim and I'm sipping some hot tea about to hit the publish button and sit and knit some more.  Sigh.  This was a picture perfect knitter's weekend.

All photos taken this morning around 7 a.m.

How was your weekend?

  8. It really looks like fall in your area, very pretty! We did the warrior dash Saturday mid morning and in the later afternoon (after getting cleaned up and resting a bit) we headed to a friends house for a bonfire. Sunday was pretty much spent on the bike, participating in a poker run to benefit cancer research. A weekend full to the brim - I feel like I need an extra day just to get some rest. ;-)

  9. Well, Karen, that sounds just about perfect! Don't know how your weekend could've gotten a bit better. :)
I enjoyed some similar activities on Saturday although I did manage to make a batch of tomato sauce. Our warm weather keeps them ripening, so I guess I'll keep on harvesting!
Happy Monday / Columbus Day! xo Lisa
