Weekends

Weekends are for memory making,
relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days.
If you would like, please share your weekend moments
in the comment section with a link to your blog.

How was your weekend?  I hope you had a good one like I did.  No traveling this weekend, just staying at home catching up on the outside chores.  Well....my husband did that.  I did the inside stuff, it's in the marriage contract.

Friday night was dinner out just the two of us at our new favorite pizza place.  We walked about in a few stores mainly window shopping.  I really should start Christmas shopping but I'm just holding off a bit more.  I want to see what I can get done in my Christmas knitting.

Saturday I visited a craft store to stock up on paper supplies and basic wool.  Today we are having burger and fries for dinner and when the kitchen is cleaned up I'm gonna knit.  Are you surprised?  The turtle was hanging out in my front yard when I spied him.  He's a bit shy.  The deer was from this morning.  Kind of blurry but if you knew how far away I was you'd be impressed with the shot.  I need some steadier hands!!

Wasn't the time change glorious?  I love that extra hour, it's golden.

How was your weekend?

  1. Hi Karen!
The turtle is interesting! When I was a child we had one named Snurt.
I like the sound of your weekend. I like inside chores, too! Now to vacuum.

  2. Your weekend sounds peaceful and quiet...my favorite kind! Christmas shopping has begun here, but I do still have two crocheting projects that I want to do as Christmas gifts. Five more rows to finish off a shawl and I'll be ready to start on one of those projects! The shawl is a gift for our daughter.

  5. Love all the wildlife Karen :) Your weekend sounds wonderful. I had a lovely, quiet weekend, that included lots of reading, knitting, and walks in the woods with my little man.

  6. Sounds like a very relaxing weekend Karen. Ours was spent pretty much hanging out at home, relaxing. I went for a 2 hour walk with a friend Saturday morning and Greg and I walked in the woods this morning. In the afternoon I was able to squeeze in another run before it started raining again. We've had quite a bit of rain this weekend, but it didn't put a damper on anything. Watched some movies, started a new knitting project, cooked, baked, got some laundry done...

  7. You are really getting the wildlife lately, and I love seeing the deer. I saw a deer yesterday, but we saw each other at the same time and he was Gone!
Sounds like Mike and I have the same marriage contract, it just makes things so much easier.
How are you liking All the light we cannot see?

  11. We had a fun time hosting two grandsons and their parents for dinner and trick and treating. The two year old was so excited about being outdoors after dark, " stars, night, look, moon!" that he didn't collect much candy. His five year old brother was cute too - collecting candy for himself and his brother telling neighbors, "I am going to split this with my brother." Lovely warm day today for a walk. Now I'm about to rip out the foot of a sock as I didn't count stitches after I finished the gusset. Darn. Your weekend sounds lovely.

  13. What a wonderful weekend you've had! I loved the photo of the turtle especially :-)
It was a concert weekend for me with dress rehearsals and the concert was today. We had a lovely family dinner with a friend and my FIL with a delicious curry made by my DH. I'm really enjoying this weekend posting of yours and reading about everyone else's special times. Sunday evening - now time to knit!

  14. It does sound like a golden weekend Karen. The sweet deer. I miss the little muntjac deers that used to come and play in our garden in Oxford. So glad that you had lots of knitting time and tasty food. We had a mixture of fun and chores too.

  21. Love your animal photos! Sounds like a perfect weekend to me. Usually my weekends are pretty much spent at home or with one of my daughters but this weekend I went to the Southeastern Animal Fiber Fair (SAFF) near Asheville, NC and spent all day Saturday just walking the vendor hall booth to booth admiring all the beautiful yarn, fleece, roving, fibers, etc. and then went outside to meet the sheep, llamas and alpacas--all beautiful animals. Enjoyed it very much--it was my first time going (and to any fiber festival). On Sunday finally got to see Jersey Boys which returned to Greenville, SC--another day I enjoyed very much.

    1. Oh I would have loved to gone! We have one that is 1 1/2 hours drive away and it's little. I love it and just dream of the bigger ones but that would be a weekend stay away and we travel so much already due to family!

  31. How cool that you found a turtle in your garden! The most exotic creature I ever found in my garden (besides my cat and dog) is a frog.. I had a similar weekend, catching up on some chores and enjoying all the sunshine by going for some biketrips.

  32. I love turtles... we supposedly have them this far north, but I'm yet to see one. Used to see plenty in VA when I lived in Richmond. Haha! The marriage contract... so much fine print, don't you think?
