Currently on the Needles

I asked many of you on Instagram what to knit next with this skein, overwhelmingly you said "SOCKS"....I am so very glad I listened to you, because this skein is delightful and I'm loving the colors popping as I knit and knit.  Sock knitting bliss at it's finest.  I decided to go back to my personal recipe for socks, because I love not reading directions and following my own in my little old head.  Also the yarn is so busy I feel a pattern would be lost.

I am still reading The Martian, I was hoping to finish the novel yesterday (which I am enjoying immensely) but I was sidetracked by the internet and a silly search for a quick getaway before the summer ends.  I didn't find a getaway (yet) but a staycation is looking very lucrative for us!!

By the way, there is a giveaway here on my blog for a free pattern by Andrea once it is released.

What are you knitting and reading this week?

  3. I missed the Instagram poll, but, yes, definitely socks! I personally think simple sock recipes make more sense anyway. Nobody notices my feet. Such a waste of so much hard work to do the fancy patterns for my stinky feet. Or maybe not.

  10. We just got back from 2 weeks in Montana and I'm already planning where we'll go in the fall to get away for a bit. (That trip will be a LOT closer to home, I know that much!) Just getting away from the normal routine can be so refreshing.

  11. Your yarn is dyed in a similar way as the skein I'm working on -- also socks!
Staycations can be great, if you can keep yourself from doing chores.

  15. It is nice to knit without having to look at a pattern. This is fun sock yarn; it has a zombie vibe or an alien on a planet. It goes with your book.

  17. If that yarn is half as nice to knit with as it is to look at you're having a good sock knit for sure. I love how you incorporated the origami frog in the photo. :)

  18. what neat wool! I'm knitting 3 pairs of different socks; Falling Water scarf and another lacey scarf and a hat! Possibly a good idea I actually finish one of these before I start something else! Many books to read, but it is university reading for the next few months!
