Weekends

Weekends are for memory making,
relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days.
If you would like, please share your weekend moments
in the comment section with a link to your blog.

me not doing anything important

My sister and her family were here this weekend and I was in the moment completely.  Now if you can read between the lines, that means I did not snap one single photo!  My company arrived Friday for dinner, she brought dessert (sweet!).  I fully appreciate all the work she does when I visit because I am exhausted from the prepping, cooking, cleaning and doing it all over again and again.

We had so much fun!  On Friday I served that salad with green beans, grilled chicken and sausage and a tossed salad.  She lovingly brought brownies, with icing.

Saturday we shopped in the morning and returned home to sit and knit, sit and read, or just sit and talk.  Everyone was in and out of the pool, the weather was perfect - not too hot, not too cold, just right.

my sister made me this!!

Yesterday's dinner was:  hamburgers and hotdogs, potato salad, tossed salad, vegetable tray and watermelon.  My sister brought a pound cake served with local strawberries, ice cream and whipped cream.  I was stuffed.

Today my company left early in the morning so I went to Mass and have been doing laundry all afternoon.  In between the loads, I've been relaxing and reading my book.

As you can imagine, we have left overs galore and that is what is for dinner.

How was your weekend?

  1. We are recovering from traveling today. Had a quick trip to the library and been reading blogs while the little one snacks on her favorites next to me while reading a new series. Her tween sister has her radio on while playing or reading in her room. The husband is studying for his final. Love your blue toes.

  2. Sounds like the perfect weekend visit! Karen, what cast-on do you use for your sock cuff? Regular long-tail? Or German twisted? Other? Thx

  3. What a wonderful weekend you had! My husband had to work yesterday so your weekend started today with church, a Costco run and now I am taking a little break from cleaning bathrooms. Our kids are either of the country or off doing their own grown up things for the 4th so tomorrow we will spend it alone--watching a movie or two (me knitting!), grilling fresh Copper River Salmon (YUM!) and keeping the dog calm when our neighbors start their illegal firework show next door. (Boo!) Have a wonderful relaxing rest of your Sunday--as always I loved my visit her on your blog today--

  13. Pretty sock! Good reward for laundry. (I detest folding laundry, by thee way...I mostly just shove it crumpled into drawers...)
