Day Dreaming

We celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary earlier this week.  I cannot believe it's been that long, I think when you have children that wipes out about 15 years of your sense to time passing.  Getting older makes time go fast as well.  I am thrilled that we are in September!  Yesterday I heard the geese honking and the sound was welcoming.  Oh my.  Fall is whispering gently and I hear her (definitely not a him).  I catch myself dreaming of mitts and hats.  As a knitter that's what day dreaming is about.

I confess that I've worn jeans two days in a row!  I decided to buy a pair of straight leg after years of boot leg cut.  I feel like a different person and somewhat stylish.

The knitting has been productive here.  I cast on for a little knit along with tracey and she has excellent taste on what to knit.  You can still join in on the together knitting! I finished the cowl and just need to block it wide.  I think this might be the early fall cowl of the season.  I do love a silk wool blend, so soft!!

Since school started and my husband is back to a regular work schedule, I'm finding myself a little lost once the day is nearing dinner.  I miss the kids and I miss the freedom summer brings.  I know this will pass, it always does when the schedule changes.  Over the years I've embraced the shift of time, attention to tasks and adjusting to the new normal.

So while I feel a little at sea, I dig out some ideas that have been shelved over the summer and focus on some personal goals.  I'm searching for new fall recipes and new to me beginner yoga routines.

Now for some links to visit:

-I've been listening to what should I read next podcast.  Golly!  how I missed this podcast I have no idea but what a treat and a treasure.  I am catching up on past podcasts while listening to current ones.  I keep a list of what I want to read on Goodreads account.  Then there is the catchall notebook that has a title here or there.  Now I have it beside me at every single podcast just in case.

Will I read every book?  Probably not.  But I LOVE having a list of recommendations.

-Have you seen Alina's massive giveaway?  You should check it out and sign up.  She is so generous and a talented knitter.

-Also this post really made me smile in a good way.  I want to be her when I grow up.

-Posie Gets Cozy had a funny post of her squid fail (warning there is a dead squid in the first photo -ew!)  I remember when I made a bulgur wheat loaf that was just awful and horrible.  Never tried to cook with bulgur since but have vivid memories of the smell and the disappointment.

Sometimes I wish my writing was neater and, well, prettier.  But it's me in all it's messiness and I think it has style :)

  1. Found you through Rosie's blog (Elizabeth) and I am a knitter also, although you could not tell it in recent years. But Ravelry keeps track for me, so I can look back on times past with yarn obsession.

You handwriting is great, and it definitely has style.
