Weekends

Weekends are for memory making,
relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days.
If you would like, please share your weekend moments
in the comment section with a link to your blog.

Good morning!  How was your weekend?  Mine was quite nice and once again - quiet.  I've been enjoying the repetitive days of focusing on my crafts, making simple meals for two.  My husband and I are back at daily walking while the weather is agreeable.  Just think after dinner walking might return at the end of February.  I'm looking forward to that.

On Saturday, I finished a shawl and hopefully will be doing a post later this week.  I wore it yesterday during my knitting gathering with friends.

I was the host this Sunday fully ready with brownies.  My friend brought apple cake that was delicious!  We sat, we knit, we talked, we shared project ideas.  We even talked about what knits we ripped out.  Knitting reality at its finest.

I started the above sock three times (three!) and while I'm not happy with how the stripe is swirling, I'm giving up on trying to fix the stripe.  I keep knitting and hope the second sock will match the first.  Oh and I'll probably be doing an after thought heel so the integrity of the errant stripe stays the same.

How was your weekend?

  1. It sounds like you had a very nice weekend! John got home a little early one day last week so we went out for a walk on our old route because it was still light enough at 5:40. Hooray! This sure beat doing endless boring laps around the lighted track like we usually do in winter, but I am grateful for a place to walk, get some fresh air, and exercise.

  14. My weekend was busy. I was in Newport on Friday and Saturday for a chorus convention. Lots of fun and learned some interesting things as well. Sunday Rob and I went to visit our land and then took a drive in the country. I'm so happy that football season is over! : )

  16. How lovely to spend time knitting with friends and cake! I am glad that you are having trouble with your sock because if an experienced knitter like you - who knits beautifully! - has trouble that means there is hope for me as a beginner to improve!
