Amethyst Shawl Complete

If you haven't knit with beads before, you should put it on your knitting bucket list.  I love this shawl and I loved knitting this pattern.  The beginning of the shawl is good old tried and true garter stitch with a crescent shaping.  Easy peasy and fun!

As I mentioned in a previous post, I used the appliance dental floss method of attaching the beads. The easiest ways to attach beading in knitting and crocheting if you ask me.  I'm kind of nutty but I love when the shawl rows take longer and longer to complete.

Another crazy thing I love is the "tinkling" sound of the beads hitting the table.  Soft, dainty and oh so decadent.

  3. That is a simply gorgeous shawl! You've also inspired me to try beads (which have always scared me a bit). I just bought some (along with a tiny crochet hook) but maybe I'll give dental floss a try.

  10. I knit with beads once, and I did love the process and the result -- even though it slows down the progress. Your shawl is just stunning. I really need to do another beaded knit.

  13. What a pretty FO! You are certainly a patient knitter with a project like this one. I kind of like shawls more especially after watching the Espace Tricot podcast. They love shawls and wear them in neat ways.

  14. oh this is stunning! the beads definitely make the piece (and I'm sure that little bit of extra weight helps in stay in place around your neck, too). sadly, putting beads into my knitting is one of my least favorite things...too fiddle-y!
