Currently on the Needles

My reading is the same as last week and I'm nearly done reading both books.  I love Britt-Marie and all of her thoughts and reflections.  Britt-Marie is my soul sister with her love of list making!  Backman's writing style is quite refreshing, poignant and funny.  He can be quirky too.

As you know, I love anything that Anne Lamott writes, so her Small Victories book which is essentially a collection of essays about faith and life, makes me want to be a better writer and an observer to my everyday occurrences.

My knitting is chugging along.  The shawl is nearing the end and each row is pure bliss.  My top down cardigan has met with some problems.  I had to rip back and fix a crucial step in the construction so while the sweater here looks like there is progress, I am facing a little bit of catch up knitting to match the above photo.  I'm okay with that, mistake finding is humbling :)

What are you knitting and reading this week?

  1. I love how Britt-Marie made the best of the difficult situations she found herself in and grew through her experiences. I would love to be able to meet her in person! I am so looking forward to seeing your completed shawl; it's absolutely beautiful!

  4. I need to add both those books to my list (which grows ever so much faster than I can possibly read...). Your knitting is so pretty and I love the way you look at discovering mistakes as humbling - a wonderful approach!

  7. I can't wait to see your shawl finished & blocked. I have to admit, I'm a little jealous. I've been wanting to do something beaded & ordered purple yarn to go with beads I already have.... except I shopped on my phone & ordered black yarn instead of purple. The beads could still work but I'm no where near as excited about the project now. Yours is looking lovely though.

  8. The top down cardi can give me issues in the beginning with the stitch markers and following the directions exactly as stated ....you will be glad you took it back. I'm knitting HELENA which is a summery top to wear over a tshirt. I just ordered a book to read for Lent. I think it is called 40days. One day one reflection type .

  9. I hate ripping back and it must be a big mistake for me to do so. In the end I'm always glad I've fixed the mistake.

  16. Oh those cardigans. Often when I knit one, I think it might be the last time. Then I enjoy wearing it and see another terrific pattern and I'm off to the needles. Keep on knitting. Progress will be made.
