Weekends

Another weekend here and then gone.  They go by so quickly!  Yesterday I had a brilliant idea to make dish wash clothes for future gifts.  I'm on a roll - knitting these without even thinking it seems!  Sometimes the simplest knits are the most satisfying.  My needles are on fire the way they quickly knit up.

I wish I was as quick with computer stuff.  I have spent  -all- day copying photos off of the PC onto a jump drive so I can access them on the Mac.  Honestly, this was slow going (but finished).  I won't go into detail of how I initially copied from an encrypted external hard drive and messed up the jump drive.

I am now slightly smarter this evening.

Our weather has been all over the place.  One day warm (yay) the next day cold (boo).  This week is supposed to get up into the sixties.  I will believe when I see it, or feel it.

The past few weekends, I've managed to not cook and so this weekend was the same.  I dig around for left overs and heat them up.  I can do this because I cook meals for four people and only two are eating them.  Maybe subconsciously I want left overs for the weekend.

How was your weekend?

  1. Those bright and sunny dishcloths would make doing dishes a joy! You've inspired me to look for some equally cheerful cotton as my family members love these as gifts. My weekend had its ups and downs, but starting the day with your lovely photos is a real plus on this rainy and dreary Monday.

  2. I have been learning a new computer at work - much learning still to be done. My weekend was lovely. Still wishing they were longer.

  3. Your crafting is so pretty and I'm sure it makes for hours of delight. I tried to knit one time, it didn't urn out so well! I too wish that weekends would stay with us all longer, but I hope that your week is wonderful and blessed.

  4. We have had beautiful weather. We went "up country" to meet up with friends for breakfast on Saturday.

Then bookstore shopping ......good times all around.

  5. Every time I think about the mess of photos on my Macbook I want to curl up in a corner and hide under a blanket. I intentionally cook for 4, so we have leftovers the second night. It's a great plan!

  6. I am so not technical where computers are concerned, I feel you pain! Absolutely love your new look blog! My weekend was a good one, sunshine both days and yesterday was Mother's Day in the UK and I was given a very lovely retro-style radio, I love it! Wishing you a happy week xx

  7. Ack! Your dishcloths have reminded me I have one in my closet that hasn't been finished since a year ago. I had worked on it when Jellybean tried out aikido. Your stained glass rooster is fun!
Perhaps the filling of your time is diverse which is why you're still immersed in those two books? Are those Frodo's toys?

  8. Love your stained glass rooster! First part of weekend was bad, but Sunday was very nice. Lambing...the good and the bad...

  9. Your dishcloths are so pretty...great way to use up some leftover yarn, too. I really need to get busy doing the same. I'm guessing you felt the 60's temps today...we did. I've been doing the same thing with leftovers. It is so nice to be able to pull things out of the freezer for dinner on the days that I am away from the house.

  10. Bright cheerful wash/dish cloths are always a good idea for gifts. Love the spring-y colors. Best of luck with that computer learning. Sometimes it feels like an uphill battle to keep up with the electronics.

  11. I just chuckled when I saw the photo on my sidebar of your beautiful dishcloths! I have a small pile sitting beside me of ones I've whipped out this week. The urge must be passing across the land. LOL! UGHHHH. I switched to a Mac a couple of years ago... I'm still in the "learning curve". Ha! May you master it quicker than I am. blessings ~ tanna

  12. Dishcloth love is always a good love. I use mine all the time . I use them in the bathroom under the soap and under the toothbrushholder. My weekend was good. I went to a craft fair and bought a card making set for 12 bucks. !!!

  13. Your dish cloth is so cheerful it would (almost) be fun to hand wash the dishes!

  14. Good weekend! I need to figure out the file transfer system on my Mac as well. The last time I tried card / card reader it did not recognize it. The dish cloths are so cheery!

  15. Your dishcloths are so happy! You remind me that one of the blessings of my new Tuesdays (without Charlie) will be rejoining the Prayer Shawl Ministry at my church (we meet monthly, on a Tuesday afternoon). In the fall, we make washcloths to include in the Christmas packages for seniors in Presbyterian Homes. I need to find some happy yarn!

  16. That dishcloth pattern is one of my faves also. Sure do love your color! We actually took a dry walk, but the sun has been seen only rarely here.
