Visitors and Happenings

See all that knitting up there?  I bet you a shiny new penny that will be my progress when I next blog.  Why you ask?  Well......she's here!  Our daughter arrived late Tuesday night after my husband drove to the philadelphia airport to pick her up.  She is here for two-ish weeks and my son in law arrives next Tuesday after finalizing the moving arrangements in California.  We will help them move to Delaware some time in the beginning of October (no definite dates...).

My brother in law and sister in law from Ottawa are arriving today, as well as our son.  I will have a FULL house!  I am writing my lists and checking them twice.  A carrot cake is in the oven as I type this post, and once the timer buzzes, I'm off to run some last minute grocery store buys.  I might be ready then.   Maybe.  We'll see.

not in the mood for a photo but she was happy for this one!
The house is clean (sort of) and I have a menu plan (sort of).  See, I'm ready.

I babysat twice this week and the poor little one is teething something fierce.  It is so hard growing and being a toddler.  Even though she is sad, she has moments of giggles.  I do love the tiny temper tantrums she does.  I never enjoyed tantrums when I was a young mother.  Ah, maturity and a wider world view.

The weather has been fickle, too warm and hot.  My window views are all screaming 'fall is here, yippee'.  Once I'm outside, my body wilts.  Walking daily has come to a screeching halt.  Frodo is eight years old and cannot take the heat and I'm joining him with the boycott.  My joints do not like it.

We bought our daughter a mega cross stitch project for one of her Christmas gifts last December from The Scarlet Letter.  Isn't it grand?  She hopes to finish it before her eyesight fails her (due to natural aging of course).  She can definitely achieve that goal.

My Sunday post will probably be on Monday.  I'll still be knee deep in family visiting.  I hope to visit you all when I have pockets of time.

Thank you for visiting and reading faithfully.  I appreciate your time and when you comment.  I value all the readers who do not comment as well.  This blogging community is a wonderful space and I do treasure it.

  1. I'm glad your daughter and son-in-law are moving back east and hope everything goes smoothly. Enjoy your full house; the good news is that they are all adults and can help if there are things to do. Maybe you can even fit in a few minutes of knitting here and there. Here's hoping real fall (with cooler temps) arrives soon!

  2. At first when you said before your daughter's eyesight fails, I thought awful things about her health, but then realized she was making a joke about aging. Phew! So glad to have misread that!
