Knitting News

Happy Valentine's Day,  I hope you receive lots of love!  Yesterday I cast on something new, I went into my deep stash and unearthed a skein of wool I bought at a fiber festival a few years ago.  So far, I'm loving the color way.  I present to you:  the Kindness Shawl.

My cowl is making slow progress this week.  However, yesterday afternoon I blissfully read my Kindle and added a few more rows while hitting my joy.  Today I intend to do more of the same.  Ravelry notes are here.

What have you been crafting up these days?

  3. I finished my crocheting project of dish cloths...lots of them so I could share with some special people in my life. Now I am working on a ripple stitch baby afghan. I've been hitting my stash of yarns pretty hard of late being determined to work ahead on projects in order to see a decline in the stash!

  5. I love your shawl so far, such pretty colors together. It reminds me that this year I would love to knit a shawl, I knit a small kerchief last year and really enjoyed it. The cowl is also coming along nicely. This week I will be working on my Wool and the Gang top. Happy Valentine's Day!

  6. Happy heart Day~!!! I love your new shawl cast on. It is all about the socks here right now. Your new cast on would have made pretty socks too!

  7. I try to sew and knit a little each day. Fuzzy Feet slippers and a table topper are the current projects.

  8. I am still working on Hectors quilt, along with cushion covers. I sent valentines cards to each of the six Grandchildren and apart from the two little ones they all knew that Granny was their secret admirer. They recognised my writing but all phoned to let me know I was loved.

  11. The stash yarn is a treasure so the shawl will be too. I have been reading about the Kindness KAL. Right now I have four projects going which is one too many for me. So the shawl waits. I decided to focus on a diagonal garter scarf for one of the grands. It seems once upon a time I knit one scarf for the oldest when the second was a baby. This winter it has been in high demand so I cast on another. I am listening to Glass Houses, another Inspector Gamache. The characters are like old friends.

  13. Happy (day late) Valentine's Day :) all my rss post updates always seem to come a day later.. ! But, I did get a peek over at instagram. It is a very pretty colour. I am busy finishing off the last row on Danika's pullover and have started the decrease on Tristan's "regular guy beanie" that I will be slipping into his carry bag when he heads off to China next month. xxx

  14. That is a pretty speckled wool for your kindness shawl Karen. I have been crocheting some cushion covers for my tired old cushions in the living room. It is taking a long while as I don't have a lot of time to spare at the moment. But that's okay, I will get there eventually xx

  15. Your Kindness Shawl yarn reminds me of the one I used for my Mystery Mitts! Also unearthed from deep in my stash. ;) Can't wait to see more! I've whipped out a hat of the leftover Noro and have swatched and swatched and swatched with that Tegna project. Finally gave up and have cast on! Ha! Have a great day, Karen! blessings ~ tanna

  17. I have two sweaters on my needles, a top down and a bottom up and I am on the round and round parts of the body on both. My reading is stalled but I know a great time book I see out there for me. Love that kindness shawl.
