Knitting News

I started a blanket for my son for his chilly apartment.  I dug deep and unearthed some wool-ease skeins that are perfect for machine washing and drying.  I bought these three mega skeins for $2.50 each many years ago making the blanket a total of $7.50!!  (love a bargain)

I started the peace cowl with the yarn my daughter and son in law gave me for Mother's day.  I do love the non-thinking process of this four row repeat pattern and I do feel the peace.

Lastly a photo of the shawl/scarf in lace weight wool.  This is oh-so-very-soft.

I have been nursing a sore back since Monday morning, the good news is that I'm recovering quickly, the bad news is that it's challenging to do any knitting since sitting is the worst.  Each day I feel better so I'm hopeful that I'll be good to go by Friday.  Fingers crossed.

What are you knitting or crafting these days?

  5. So sorry your back has been giving you trouble. It's not fair to be in pain and not be able to knit!
I've been my usual ADD knitter self: socks, a shawl, a hat. And lots of embroidery!

  6. All three projects look nice. Imagine a knitted blanket for $7.50! That is a good bargain. I am sending healing prayers to you. I hope Friday brings a respite from the back pain. No fun. Hmm - what am I knitting? I am mostly unknitting this week. The cowl from scraps wasn't as I imagined. I tried to cast on some mittens yesterday but the needles and yarn didn't work well together. Back to the stash to figure out something. I have one lonely wash cloth on the needles. Maybe a few more while I ponder my options.

  8. I’m trying to finish several wips and fighting the urge to start anything new. So far I have resisted. I keep telling myself if I finish one then I can start something new. I hope your back feels better.

  13. Just finished a clutch wallet on my sewing machine, a baby sweater just needs buttons, and cast on an afghan square for a new project. Have I finished the other afghan project? Well, no, but....OK, I really must finish the last 2 squares of that project before starting anything else!

  16. I like the stitch definition your peace cowl shows. I love how you're making a blanket for your son. Yeah, wool ease washes up read good. My mum made these wonderful blankets for the girls. I can't remember if they're knitted or crocheted, but the younger's has this beautiful border around it, one she used from a book we had bought her one year.
