Knitting News

I've been feverishly knitting the hitchhiker shawl trying to finish it.  I have 40 teeth and Im squeaking my way to 41.  Ah, the thrill of wondering how much yarn I have left.  I thought I had a partial skein of this yarn in my stash but I was mistaken.  So this lonely skein has to do all the work.

The three color cowl is at the exciting contrasting color part.  I doubt I will have enough green yarn so like I said previously, I'll be fudging this pattern about to get the three colors in.  I'm considering this a scrappy three color cowl with my own creative license.

Today I wound up two lovely lace weight skeins of wool.  I haven't decided exactly what I will be knitting but I do know that the project will be purple.

What are you working on this week?

  1. Oh that lace weight yarn is lovely! (and I love your hitchhiker!)

I am just a few repeats away from a finished Screen Door! (then maybe a sweater will jump on my needles)

  3. Your Hitchhiker is beautiful. My first one only had 39 teeth and it was still long enough to wrap around nicely.

  4. I absolutely love your hitchhiker shawl, Karen! I am four inches away from finishing the baby blanket that I have been working on for MONTHS, I am so slow, LOL! Luckily, the baby isn't due until July so I know it will be finished in time. : )

  8. I love that new purple yarn. I have two skeins of some lace weight that I can never quite pair with a project. I'll be anxious to see which pattern you choose. I made that cowl pattern twice - and fudged around with scraps. It is a great pattern for fudging. Best of luck with yarn chicken and the hitchhiker. Will that extra partial skein turn up after you've bound off?

  9. Your Hitchhiker is so pretty! I think you'll have enough yarn for one more tooth.
I cut my three-color cowl short to accommodate my yarn -- and it worked out just fine!

  11. Hitchhiker is beautiful. Good luck playing yarn chicken. I really like those lace-weight skeins, but then again I am partial to purple.

  12. This day last week I was running around most likely. Since I didn't make a Costco run yet I had to buy food every day until Friday for dinner.
