Gray Green Colored Cowl


There are times I amused myself greatly.  Taking photos of this cowl was one of those amusing times.  In the photo above I'm being silly with poses and laughing while doing so.  Simple pleasures!

I love this cowl pattern immensely for its versatility.  This time around, I used up odds and ends of half skeins of mainly super-wash fingering weight wools from my stash.


The main reason I love this cowl is because when the winds are blowing or when rain is spitting at your head, you can pop the edge of this cowl up and over your cold head and still have a very warm neck.  I've done it many times while wearing the first cowl during the winter. 



I enjoyed the challenge of using up scraps and getting creative when I was running out of mainly green and blue.  I'm an oddball in that I take great satisfaction of playing yarn chicken and winning through problem solving ideas.

    Great/funny photo and wow! The cowl is gorgeous. I made the sockhead cowl which is long like that, but just plain knitting. I love the textures and different patterns you have in yours - lovely.

    This is a wonderful way to use up scraps. I like the fact that this cowl can cover your head in a pinch.

    I love how this cowl sits on your neck and how it drapes. It's light but at the same time snuggles up good and takes care of your neck area and even of the front of your chest.

    The cowl is lovely. You played the game of yarn chicken well. Such a pretty combination from partial skeins. As I've mentioned before, I love a good scrappy project. Cute photo too. The world would be better off if we were all a little goofy now and again.

    It does look great Karen, the colours go well together. It's fun to enjoy 'life' I'd imagine it keeps all the draughts at bay. Cx

Hopefulness

  Good morning! This week has been busy with classes and routine doctor appointments. The arthritis doctor has a few tricks up her sleeve for some of my dry mouth issues (from my autoimmune disease - Sjorgren's Syndrome) that make me feel hopeful. What was the most important thing during that doctor visit is that I felt seen and heard. I am thankful for her and her team. Speaking of hopefulness, look at my daffodils sprouting up! Some of the daffodils are just starting and some already have a head start. I love winter, but I'm looking forward to spring. The crocuses seem to be taking their time this year, as well as the snowdrops (unless those pesky deer have eaten them, grr). Even though I am still knitting my baby blanket, I have gathered four skeins of potential socks to be and am dreaming of a wonderful sock frenzy cast on.

New Year

  Good morning! How are you? Happy New Year, may this year be full of blessings to all of you. Well now, I finally have an empty home after having our son, daughter in law, grandson and granddaughter here for six nights.  I am still experiencing fatigue and symptoms from the virus even though I am feeling better. It was a challenge hosting family while recovering. Also we babysat the kids overnight (!!) while my son and daughter in law went for little getaway. I am thankful and grateful my Aunt came over both days to help out with the granddaughter who never sleeps during the day. (snack-naps do not count!). They all left early in the morning, and while I was tired, sleep deprived and fatigued, I put away Christmas plus all the toys and doodads you need for babies. Today I am looking at a squeaky clean house. I am planning on reading books and falling asleep while doing so! My exercise routine is on hold as I slowly get better. Maybe next week I can muster up some energy for some yoga
