Teal Blue Mitts

I finished not one pair but two pairs of mitts.  One pair is slightly longer in the hand and thumb for a known recipient's hand size.  The second pair is a 'guesstimate' size.  They will fit!

Now that I've knit this pattern three times, I'm ready to move onto something different.  For several years now I will knit the same pattern a couple of times if I like it and believe it would make a great gift.  There is something soothing about knitting a familiar pattern and getting into a zen state of mind.

What have you been working on this week?

  5. Those look lovely.... I don't knit, but can appreciate the thought of being so familiar with what one is doing, it almost "does" by itself. And the person's mind is free to gently wander. -smile-

Me'thinks we all *ought* to do that more... In whatever way it works for us... Peacefully let our mind wander..... But just let the bothersome thoughts pass on. Move on to a maximum of nice thoughts....

  6. Those mitts will be such welcome gifts. Pretty color - blue (my fav) of course. I do knit some of the same patterns - The World's Simplest Mittens and Grammy's Favorite Hat come to mind. I have also knit quite a few Vanilla Latte Socks. The same of anything can be quite soothing.

  10. Yes familiar patters and be so fun to knit. I always love it when I pick up washclothes again using the pattern I learned when I was seven. Those are beautiful mits too.

  13. You are wonderful, Karen. I admire your patience with knitting the same pattern a few times. I am so ready to move on from one before I even finish it. I think next year I'm going to start knitting gifts for the littles, my mama, SIL, and lil sister again. I want to knit that grandpa cardigan by Tin Can Knits for my nephews.
