Weekends

How was your weekend?  I'm knee deep in a wonderful holiday lull.  Over the weekend our company left, I blitzed the house something fierce.  All of the scurrying was done so I could sit and enjoy my knitting, reading and painting.

Even though the weather was drippy, foggy and rainy, I continued to enjoy the weekend of leftover dinners and tons of cookies.  Supplies are running low for my no cooking streak so I guess I have to start menu planning.

I resurrected my purple sweater and started knitting it once more.  It's nice to not be knitting Christmas gifts and to have time to knit.

How was your weekend?

  1. Sounds like the perfect "between Christmas and New Year" weekend.

Our weekend was great too! We arrived back on the island on Friday and decided to ignore unpacking, grocery shopping and things like that to do a beach day on Saturday. That was exactly what we needed. On Sunday we got a lot checked off the todo list, but we ended the day with life music at the beach and friends.

  3. Glad you hear you are enjoying your after Christmas break! My weekend has been good. I am on vacation in the oldest city of the Netherlands, Maastricht. There is a Catholic church over 1000 years old here. It is beautiful.

  4. Looks like the rain, has moved our way. But thankfully, it is not ice! Was very worried about an ice storm. Rain is fine!!!!!!! -smile-

Continue to enjoy this lull, during the last week of the year!!!! -smile-

  5. It does look like a very foggy time there, but at least you don't have to shovel fog! Enjoy your post-holiday lull.

  6. The foggy weather makes for a cozy day. You are so good at getting your house picked up and back in shape after company. We had a quiet weekend with rain on Friday evening and Saturday and a little snow on Sunday afternoon. We were tucked indoors with a pot of vegetable stew. I look forward to seeing that sweater take shape.

  7. Sounds like a great weekend after the holidays to get back into regular routine. I had a good weekend, I went to brunch with some of Liam's family and I went back to the gym after a long break and trying to get back to regular eating habits as well. Happy New Year!

  8. Weekend was sad. I tried to appreciate that my grown kids came to us and we had fun. But that awful after sad is just too much. Getting over it now. TODAY, Im ending the year , helping at the barn . Just chores and horses. No students. BUT FRESH Snow and that makes for beautiful photos of our herd. Later: nap and then Knit. Filet on our grill for our NYE dinner. :)

  13. Holly got hooked up! She's so lucky to have that multi-level cat house. I wanted to get some for ours but the husband firmly nixed it.
