Weekends

How was your weekend?

Oh, I wish I could bottle up this past weekend.  The weather was perfect!  Beautiful blue sunny skies and low humidity.  Why can't August be like June?  We've switched our walks to before lunch instead of after lunch.  Since Frodo is 10 1/2 years old he cannot take the heat nor the humidity so we keep that in mind while we walk.

Saturday I spent most of the day reading and knitting.  My pink sweater, that is not photographed, is nine rows from being done with the body.  You know what that means!  Fast and furious sleeve knitting.

This weekend the daisies and wild rose bushes started blooming.  Two of my favorites.  The scent of the roses is delicate and I love when I catch a sniff by chance.

My nose is nearly normal, thank goodness.  Now I have to put up with jokes from my husband every time we walk.  'Watch out for that leaf' , 'there's a twig over there, don't trip on it' etc... Honestly it's funny now that I am mostly healed.  Lesson learned - watch where you are going!

Yesterday I pulled out the paints and explored new color mixing ideas.  I want to do this daily but I do not.  I let other things become priority.  Sunday morning I pulled all of the art supplies out and placed them there on the kitchen table, staring at me, reminding me and whispering to me.  Maybe I need to do that every day?

How was your weekend?

  3. Hmm ... I hope your husband does not trip someday, or if/when he does, I hope you tease him about it! I think your mixing was a success - that watercolor is beautiful!

  5. I'm afraid I don't want to bottle up June...it's been over 90 every day, high humidity, and I'm melting. (could use to melt a couple pounds!) The weeds are growing while I look at them...I weed down one side of the bed, and by the time I'm finished, there are more popping their darn little heads up at the other. Now, I'll probably be complaining about the rain tomorrow when Cristobal makes his presence known on the way up the Mississippi!! You just can't win in the summer. And did I mention, you can saddle the mosquitoes this year around here?

  7. I am glad to hear that your nose is getting better. You can always trust your husband to milk things for all their worth, especially when you have had an unfortunate accident!

I am glad to hear that you have had a good weekend.

  8. We had a ton of much needed rain. I love rain and gray skies because Florida is really too bright all the time. It allowed me to stay in and get an antique chair refinished. It was wonderful. Stay safe.

  9. So glad your nose is almost back to normal. I've switched my walks to early morning. I kind of hate to give up that first hour of quiet but I will adjust. It's better to walk before it's 90 plus degrees. Your watercolor is so pretty. Sometimes I wonder where the days go.

  10. So glad your nose is healing. I prefer early morning walking most days. Of course you have to keep Frodo's comfort in mind. We had one very humid day, but that has passed and it is much nicer this week. Stay safe and enjoy your painting.

  13. What a nice walk you always have. I have to workout in the garage before it gets too hot and I'm most motivated in the mornings after I get up + I need to kill time because waiting until 2pm to eat something and my OMAD can be killer.
