Weekends

How was your weekend?

Mine was pretty good.  We didn't leave the house Friday, Saturday, Sunday and most likely we are staying home today (Monday).  We did take a morning walk earlier on the weekend and it was unbearable humid.  Bleh.  I'm not a fan.  I am quite happy to stay indoors in blissful AC.  Frodo equally is happy to be inside, at ten years old (almost 11!) he cannot take it.  My husband thinks he is fine and I worry too much.

I did finish those pesky socks.  Maybe I'll share the photos on Wednesday when we talk knitting.  I keep chipping away at the wheat shawl and the ashling shawl that has no end in sight since it's lace weight and it's a thin lace weight!

We talked to both kids a lot over the weekend.  My son gave me a video call tour of his new apartment, it looks so nice.  He now has central air conditioning and it's made his quality of life go up a bit.  That AND a dishwasher!  What a game changer.

I'm hoping to visit my daughter someday soon.  Right now it's not happening but I can dream.

We swam almost every day and lucky for me we had leftovers for Sunday dinner.  Any day I do not cook is a wonderful day.

Do you remember in the late spring when it was cloudy and rainy every single day?  Oh how miserable that weather pattern was and in turn so was I. Right now, I would give anything for a cloudy rainy day!  These endless sunny hot and humid days are just too much.

How was your weekend?

  1. It's been so hot here on the Front Range, I have been living in the basement with air-conditioning ! Summer is my least favorite season, I am a cool to cold weather lady. Love your knits!

  2. We are just getting our warmer weather and I am grateful that humidity isn’t an issue here. That pool looks very inviting. I love to swim but we don’t have a pool and the beaches are not a place I would go right now. Hope you get some weather relief.

  3. Love your watercolors! I'm with you and Frodo and do not like the endless hot and humid weather. I just hung laundry out a few minutes ago and it's already 88 here in MD. At least it should dry quickly!

  4. We did have a little rain, yesterday, in fact. It wasn't terribly hot. I love your pool picture. That looks so inviting. Sometimes, I miss not having a nice pool like we had in Arizona. I must be old like your dog because I don't do well in the heat either, and humidity is the worst. Glad you could talk to both of your kids. I hope your week goes well.

  6. We went walking on the canal trail in Bethlehem. It was SO hot, but we made it! LOL Good progress was made on Steve's sock. Not so much on the sweater. But, I've got plenty of hot humid days ahead to stay inside and knit.

  7. I definitely agree with you and Frodo. Best to stay inside. Loving your watercolors - they are just so nice. I knit some, stitched some and cooked some. A good, balanced weekend that was enjoyable.

  9. It is unbearably hot here too. Hubby and I have been enjoying the AC and our pool. Very grateful for both. Sounds like you are having the same. I finished my bunny and read my book. How nice that you got a video tour of your son's apartment. I hope you can see your daughter soon.

  10. It was insanely hot here, and we don't have AC. I had planned a backyard gathering with friends. I baked for the event. It was a lovely afternoon, but I was exhausted when it was over. I spent Sunday recovering in the cool basement and working on my family history.

  11. It was just as you describe Karen cool, wet, a little windy and at times misty. It was so nice to hunker down and enjoy a few projects together.

  12. Uneventful weekend pretty much. FT my dad to wish him a HB Friday and watched Nat Geo + Malificient II (took me near the end to figure out it was the second movie and not the first, LOL! I need to watch the first one.).

  13. I love your watercolors, especially the lavender. We had a beastly hot and humid weekend until a thunderstorm blew through late on Sunday. We also talked to our children and watched the livestream of our church service. I walked both days around 8 a.m. I am also a fall/winter person but doing my best to savor the summer days. I made a batch of zucchini brownies. I love your shawls - especially that Golden Wheat.
