Knitting News

Hello!

I have to admit that this week has been upside down with my knitting.  The above project also had to ripped out two rows (twice!) because clearly I am challenged at following a pattern correctly.  However, I am happy to report I am back on track and the knitting is easy!

I've had two knitting zoom meetings and at both I made some errors.  Reading and knitting is fine, talking and knitting is a slippery slope for me.

I finished reading Rules of Civility by Amor Towles.  Overall I enjoyed the book, I had trouble getting into the story line at the beginning and the ending was 'okay' but all the middle part I enjoyed a lot.  I have a Tana French book, In the Woods, that I'm itching to start today.

What are you working on this week?

  1. Sorry about your unraveling. I find that knitting and talking don't always mix for me - lol. I did not get much done yesterday thanks to the storm and losing power. Hopefully more today!

  2. Ripping back, a knitters life. I have ripped back on so many projects, that several feel like I have knitted them twice! I have also come to accept this as part of a knitters life!

  3. I always have a simple hat or stockinette project for knitting and zoom. The shawl is going to be lovely.

  4. Your shawl is gorgeous...I'd hate to make a mistake on that though...the frogging and reknitting would be difficult...

  5. That's so funny: I can talk and knit, but I wouldn't even think of reading and knitting.
I'm still working on ponchos. But I might have to introduce some variety. I've never been a monogamous knitter.

  6. I am with you on Zoom knitting and talking... boy, it is plain stockinette for me! :)

  7. I'm not very good at knitting if someone is talking to me. It's taken me almost 40 years, but I almost have John trained to not even try talking to me about anything important if I'm knitting!

  8. If I am talking and knitting, I need a project of basic stockinette or garter stitch. I can listen to podcasts and audio books and knit almost anything but have never tried knitting and reading at the same time. I'm afraid I'd develop a bad headache. I'm prone to those. I do like the shawl though.
I'm knitting a few gifts - a stuffy for my great niece's first birthday and a hat for my daughter-in-law.

  9. i can talk and knit and read and knit....but it better be something really really simple like garter or stockinette or I'm toast!!! I'd never try lace...ever!!! Brave woman you are!

  10. I love to talk and knit, sometimes it is my lifeline.......don't read and knit though as I don't use an e-reader and would not be able to work out how to do that with a real book......

Still rows on my shawl, I am on the home straight now and wanting to get it off the needles!

  12. You have interesting reading choices; I like that. Sorry about having to rip again but like how you wanna do it right and so fix it. I've been trying to knit two rows on my shawl and I work on my sock as I get tired in the evening and just want to chill while I watch Netflix.

  13. So sorry about the frogging but glad you are back on track now. Can't wait to hear what you think of In The Woods. I have it on my Kindle but haven't started it yet.
