Weekends

How was your weekend?

Mine was quiet and steady, just the way I like it. We walked both days getting our fresh air and stretching our legs. I did art journaling on Saturday as well as hot glued some ornaments then stitched them together.  Let's just say I have respect for hot glueing - it is a mess and it's painful when you touch it!

On Sunday I started a new baby blanket but I'm waffling on whether I like it or not. The yarn is pooling a bit. I could accept it and say it's artistic expression and leave it be.  I will just keep adding rows and thinking about it.  I like the yarn since it's 100% cotton and the baby is a California baby to be.

I worked on my sweater as well this weekend and really need to check gauge...eep.  If I'm off by an inch I know I can block the daylights out of it.  The yarn is 100% wool and I do not have the grace that super wash gives when it relaxes and grows which is a minor concern. It's wonderful that these are my pressing thoughts on my mind.

  3. Nice job on the ornaments - love the colors. I put out some decorations and did some baking. Our tree is now in the house...lights may go on it today. Ornaments a bit later.

  4. Very cute ornaments. Yarn pooling can be frustrating at times and at other times it makes for interesting patterning. Would a different pattern help stop the pooling? I know garter stitch seems to not show poolingmuch much. How about a waffle stitch?

My weekend was full of fun. We made tamales with 2 friends on Saturday and Sunday I worked solely on my cardigan and now have 2 sleeves completed.

  5. I love the ornaments and the colors you chose. I spent the weekend finishing up decorating and knitting, so it was fairly low key and enjoyable. I hope your sweater gauge is okay!

  8. Another low key and cold weekend. I love the peek at your art journals. What is it about journals that are so wonderful? I hope your sweater will block. It sure is pretty. I finished addressing and writing in cards today. That is really the last - have to do before Christmas. I will do some cooking and baking the week before. I still have one more hat and mitten set to knit but those aren't Christmas gifts - just Grammy gifts.

  9. I love the color scheme of your ornaments. Yeah, why can't hot glueing be neater and easier?
