Weekends

We are getting pounded by a double snow event and I, for one, am super excited. Right now we have about 5 inches with yet a whole day to go for snowfall. The vistas are beautiful.

This weekend I fell down the rabbit hole of thinking what kind of challenge I would like to do during February. I decided that I would write a haiku a day. When I told my sister about the challenge, she said she would join me in crafting haikus. One of my Christmas presents from her was a handmade notebook. (I forgot to photo it..) So in the above crafted planner with a myriad of stickers I purchased from Michaels, I will jot down my poems then transfer them NEATLY into the notebook and do some kind of illustration. I'm not sure if the paper can hold paint, I need to ask her so maybe it will be inking only.

My knitting has been wonderful, slow and easy with this heartwarmer cowl. I love spending time on this project.

Yesterday my husband made a curry dinner and so I had the luxury of not cooking dinner and having dinner leftovers for another non-cooking day.

How was your weekend?

  1. The snow is so pretty, isn't it? Right now we seem to be getting sleet rather than snow, but I am hopeful that the snow will pick up. They say we could get up to 14"!!! A curry dinner sounds wonderful - would your husband be willing to share his recipe? That is a fabulous color for a Heart Warmer!

  2. Lots of cleaning, painting and reorganizing. The closets are all tidy with fresh coats of paint where needed. The faucets were all taken apart and had the aerators cleaned. It was a keep-busy-inside kind of weekend.

    Have fun with the haiku.

  3. We continue to get short breaks in the rain and my schedule has allowed me to take advantage of those breaks to get out and walk which has been a life saver. Love you gold yarn

  4. The homemade notebook is quite attractive. What a lovely gift. Haikus always were a challenge for me. Hopefully you will post some of yours. Your snowfall looks lovely. So white and pristine. I love being outside when it snows. The world is hushed and peaceful.

  5. My weekend was spent cooking, grocery shopping, and getting ready for our snow that started yesterday afternoon. It's snowing hard now and isn't supposed to quit until tomorrow, but I'm getting a few minutes of knitting time in between going out to shovel. Have fun with haiku!

  16. That's one pretty cowl. I've got the pattern all printed off and lots of fingering yarn in my stash so will give it a try soon. Enjoy the snow; we've had lots of rain in January and more to come this month. It's getting kind of soggy here.
