The Plan

Hello! How is your first week of January? Mine has been delightful. I thought I'd share with you some of the new books and journalling stuff I received over the holidays. The above book pile is what I'll be reading in the next few weeks. My kindle has a ton of books and I like to have one of those always going so it's light in my purse when I'm out - I can guarantee you if I don't take a book with me I am waiting somewhere for a very long time so I try to keep it with me. (Emergency reading?)

Last March, I switched to a Hobonichi Weeks planner and loved it so much. So I bought one for 2022. I use this for personal planning and keeping appointments. I also track my health, exercise, knitting ideas or projects, and all sorts of thoughts. This planner is a thought catcher.

For my birthday, my daughter gave me the above pencil pouch that is delightful! She purchased it from JetPens  and along with the pouch,  there were lavender pens and markers and washi tape. Swoon!

(I bought my Hobonichi Weeks planner from JetPens as well)

My husband gifted me the above journal cover (well I picked it out from him to me) from documented journey This cover is made from cork so it is animal free. I love how it accidentally coordinates with my lavender pencil pouch. Brie, at Documented Journey also has a youtube channel. Thank you Brie for the most delightful cover!

This planner and cover will be mini art sketches and mini art journalling for when I am on the go or when I want to draw small. I'm excited about more art in my daily life.

I continue to dabble with my big art journal and either write about personal events or maybe copy a poem I find or paste in mini photos of my family. It's a catchall for everything and I like to flip through the pages and see what I was thinking about in the past.

That's about all of the plans for 2022.

  4. I want to thank you for the info about the Hobonichi weeks planner. I purchased one and love it. So easy to use for daily planning and also for writing thoughts down into. I agree having a book on the Kindle is perfect for those times you have to wait and forgot to bring knitting along. I have it on my phone so am never without it. Your pencil pouch is really cute. Love the color of it too.

  5. Sounds like you've got a good plan! Those books look interesting. I love my Kindle, too, and that I can get library books on it. Don't worry though, I've lots of other books waiting also. Right now I'm reading Chagas, a true story about the disease caused by the "kissing bug".

  7. Sounds like you have some wonderful books to read for the start of the year. I am also reading a Year of Positive thinking! It is good so far. I like the little messages each day and it doesn't take too long to read them. I like your journals too. I like the pencil pouch you were gifted that is really nice. Hope you have a great start to the New Year!

  8. I love the books on your "to read" stack and also your new planner and journal. The pen case is great and so handy. I am going to look up that kind of planner you use. I usually have a book with me and several "emergency books" on the Kindle app of my phone. It's always good to make use of wait time with a book. Hope you have a good weekend!

  10. I love notebooks, journals, and sketchbooks. Poems, sketches, thoughts, and all bits of randomness find their way into mine. Stickers too! I love stickers and washi tape, and other paper treasures. I find all kinds of odd notes and drawings left in the library books at work. Those are especially fun.

I love your little pen case, its delightful.

  13. That pencil pouch is super cool! I am a sucker for any kind of stationery, so much so that I had to put my own foot down and stop buying pens and ink... for now, anyway! I currently have a wee resolution to get through the stack of books on my coffee table which were all bought with grand intentions but have been neglected for tv an phone scrolling. I think it will do me good to get out of that mode for a while.

  14. Congratulations on getting moved into your new house. It looks like a lovely house, and your family is getting it fixed up so quickly!
I thought I was the only person who thinks that the way to ward off a long wait is to bring a book!
I have heard great things about JetPens. And I love that pencil case! As practical as it is pretty. I've been ordering my fountain pens from Goulette. They are really helpful when you run into technical problems. So far I love my Lamy Joy and Safari pens!
