How was your weekend?

I enjoyed a super quiet 'no workers drilling out bricks on my house' weekend. Today they are coming to take down the scaffolding. Next up are the roofers. I don't know when they are coming here, end of this week?

Besides being deliciously quiet, I enjoyed doing a little bit of everything. Writing, journaling, knitting and reading. Sure I did some chores as well. My kitchen floor is squeaky clean! 

Today I'm writing out the mighty to do list and sketch out a menu plan. If you haven't already, please read Bonny's menu plan post and especially the comments section. I found it helpful!

I am nearing the end of knitting my grandson's Christmas sweater, what a fast knit!!

    I'm glad you enjoyed a quiet weekend before the roofers show up! We have a refrigerator full of leftovers, so that's dinner tonight. But that gives me time to plan my next week's worth of meals. I benefited greatly from all the comments people were so kind to share!

    Hooray for a quiet weekend. Baby knits are such a joy because the work up quickly. Not to mention how cute they are. Thanks for the link about menu planning. Now I want to look at the paprika app. I plan 2 weeks at a time. Fresh ingredients are purchased weekly though.

    Is that a zinnia? I have some I'm growing from seed, but they haven't bloomed yet. We went to the lake this weekend, as it was hot and sunny here.

    My meal pkanning system is awesome - I let my daughter deal with it. LOL It works out great, except my husband tends to raid the fridge and eat half the needed ingredients for snacks.

    our neighborhood is going through a re-roofing phase (many homes had damage from a hailstorm last summer) and a day when it's quiet is a most welcome day! love the quick progress you're making on your grandson's sweater!

    Lovely flowers Karen, I have never seen Yarrow that colour, we sometimes have light pink ones, they are a gorgeous colour. That jumper is such a quick knit, it will be off the needles by now I am sure!

    Enjoy your meal planning, I swear by it but I know it is not for everyone.

Hopefulness

  Good morning! This week has been busy with classes and routine doctor appointments. The arthritis doctor has a few tricks up her sleeve for some of my dry mouth issues (from my autoimmune disease - Sjorgren's Syndrome) that make me feel hopeful. What was the most important thing during that doctor visit is that I felt seen and heard. I am thankful for her and her team. Speaking of hopefulness, look at my daffodils sprouting up! Some of the daffodils are just starting and some already have a head start. I love winter, but I'm looking forward to spring. The crocuses seem to be taking their time this year, as well as the snowdrops (unless those pesky deer have eaten them, grr). Even though I am still knitting my baby blanket, I have gathered four skeins of potential socks to be and am dreaming of a wonderful sock frenzy cast on.

New Year

  Good morning! How are you? Happy New Year, may this year be full of blessings to all of you. Well now, I finally have an empty home after having our son, daughter in law, grandson and granddaughter here for six nights.  I am still experiencing fatigue and symptoms from the virus even though I am feeling better. It was a challenge hosting family while recovering. Also we babysat the kids overnight (!!) while my son and daughter in law went for little getaway. I am thankful and grateful my Aunt came over both days to help out with the granddaughter who never sleeps during the day. (snack-naps do not count!). They all left early in the morning, and while I was tired, sleep deprived and fatigued, I put away Christmas plus all the toys and doodads you need for babies. Today I am looking at a squeaky clean house. I am planning on reading books and falling asleep while doing so! My exercise routine is on hold as I slowly get better. Maybe next week I can muster up some energy for some yoga
