Seasons

Ah. September, how I enjoy you and welcome you in. I'm not a fan of summer but I try my best to enjoy what I do like about it. One of the best things about summer is that it leads to fall. And I am ready! My super early morning walks with Frodo are chilly most of the time. School is back in session and I wave to the school kids as they drive by in the yellow school bus. This weekend will be in the high 80s and I just don't care, I know it's the last hurrah even if it takes until October.

This week has been so nice. I am thrilled that so far (fingers crossed) my husband  and I continue to remain healthy. May it continue. After the massive catch up from being out of town unexpectedly, I've settled into a comforting knitting routine. I've got some ideas for holiday knitting but I'm still sticking with my selfish 'for me' knitting this month. I will ponder the gift giving knitting only.

September inspires me to reflect on the remaining tasks around the house and day trips I want to explore with my husband before it's too cold outside. The older I get the more I appreciate the seasons, yes even summer my least favorite one of all. I would not have it any other way. The other day my husband said that the almanac predicts lots of snow for the northeast -- swoon!

I'm enjoying my days, journaling all those private thoughts and musings in my art journal, dabbling in creating art - it's been a lovely summer season so now September let's see what's in store for us as we count down to fall.

  1. I was also thrilled to change the calendar page to September. We still have temps in the high 80s but the mornings are cooling down and much nicer for walking. I've vowed not to say that I'm too cold until at least January!

  3. Oh, how I wish we would have chilly mornings in September. I would even welcome them in October. But November is when we cool off here. So I will live vicariously through you until then.

  4. Glad to hear you're feeling and doing so well. I'm also thinking about holiday knitting (or maybe sewing), but I want to get some grandson knitting done first ;-)

  9. This is the beginning of the best season. Last night I cast on a hat that will be a Christmas gift. I am dreaming about some other projects but decided to get started with the few holiday gifts.

  10. I love the seasons too. It's still triple digit hot in the West as September comes in, but I am looking forward to cooler temperatures and fall leaves by the end of the month. I love your knitting. Great idea for getting a running start on your holiday gifts. I hope you have an enjoyable Labor Day Weekend.
