Good morning! I'm hoping you have this day off like we do here in the states. It's Labor Day! How was your weekend?

Well... because we saw our son, daughter in law and grandson earlier than planned, we decided to drive up to see my mother in law in London, Ontario this weekend since we had a kennel stay already booked and pre-paid.

It was a super quick trip leaving on Friday and coming home on Sunday. We had a lovely time seeing her and some other family members. Now we are home sweet blessed home.

Holly loves when Frodo is not here, so sad but true.

I did a ton of knitting in the car and while sitting and talking on our trip, I finished the sweater body and am now on the first sleeve!

I'm enjoying being home (a home body deep down inside)

How was your weekend?

  1. I like trips but always look forward to coming home. How nice you got to have a little get away. It gave Holly a little break too. Your sweater is moving along. It will be ready for your cool weather in no time.

  2. Oh wow! You will never regret trips to see family especially as we are not getting any younger ❤️🙏🕯

  3. Thank you for telling me your 2023 planner was coming in this week. I was told (via internet search)the new Techno wouldn't be out until October 1! I scurried into Jet Pens and got mine ordered today. So much for trusting the internet for info lol.

  4. Sounds like a wonderful weekend! Visiting family is always worth it. I love that picture of Holly. She looks so peaceful.
And nope, we don't have Labour Day today, so it's a work day for us. Both in The Netherlands and on Curaçao Labour Day is on May 1st. I actually looked it up and found out that only the United States, Canada, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Canal Zone, and the Virgin Islands have it in September. ;-)

  5. Glad you could get away to see family, and I'm glad you are back home again!

  6. Glad you could spend time with your family. Have a great week!

  7. What an enjoyable weekend! I hope your week will be full of more good things!

  8. How wonderful that you were able to take another trip. Love that blue sweater.

  9. Welcome to Sleeve Island! Glad you could get away to see your MIL...and glad you are back home safe and sound. I'm a home-body too, so I do understand. Our weekend was laid back, nothing special which is the way I like it.

  10. I'm also a home-body so I understand how nice it is to be home. Although going to see your MIL and other family is also a good thing. Look at that sweater. Road trip knitting is so nice for making progress.
