Knitting News

Good morning! How are you all doing this fine day? I am so thankful that it's the day after July 4th and I will hopefully have a quiet evening. The past two evenings were noisy with neighbors shooting off fireworks. I am grateful that Frodo is hard of hearing and slept peacefully. I wish I could say the same for me (sleeping peacefully that is)!!

I started another hitchhiker shawl as soon as I finished the last one. As you know, I work on this in the evenings while watching TV. It's the perfect project to have in the summer - mindless enough but interesting enough.

What are you working on this week?

  1. My green blog...er...Hitchhiker is coming along and it needs to be finished. I'm bored with it and tired of it. I do love the color for your latest Hitchhiker - very pretty. I'm another one who is happy the 4th is over with for another year!

  2. Your Hitchhiker is at the perfect stage - still fun and not yet boring! I hope you get a good night's sleep tonight with no fireworks. (I'm certainly glad the 4th is over!)

  4. The fireworks have been going on for days. Last night we didn't sleep until who knows when. Got louder at 11 PM. Very difficult. I am glad for the quiet now and can only hope for no fireworks tonight.

  5. I have some "Christmas in July" socks on the needles. That Hitchhiker is such a great color. That will go with LOTS of clothes.

  6. Lovely shawl, Karen. Would you please tell me the name of this pattern. I scanned Ms. Behm's patterns on Ravelry but was not able to locate this specific pattern.
    Thank you. Marta

    1. The pattern is hitchhiker and on ravelry someone on their project added an eyelet row on row 8.

  7. how funny - I just visited Vera's blog and saw her Hitchhiker, now yours, and I expect I'll see one on Bonny's when I visit there next. ...and I STILL haven't knit one myself! This week I'm working on two shawls - LUCCA when I can knit lace, and Tiny Tassels when I can't.

  8. What a pretty color for a hitchhiker. That pattern is a classic for sure and I enjoy a good garter stitch knit. So I have a simple garter stitch shawl/scarf and a pair of mitts on the needles - for now.
