Family Gatherings

Hello! Happy post Thanksgiving! I'm dropping in for a quick update. Our families arrived on Wednesday night as planned but sadly our little granddaughter wasn't feeling well Thursday morning and so her parents took her to ER and she was diagnosed with RSV but not admitted and sent home.

That diagnosis dispersed our big Thanksgiving family to two houses instead of everyone at my house. My sister and her family stayed at her house and my family stayed at my house. My dad visited both houses. My sister and I were swapping dishes to complete the meals. (We cooked the turkey she made the stuffing etc). It was quite the production but we made it work and we each had a good Thanksgiving.

Our little granddaughter is slowly feeling better and so far no one else has any symptoms (yay!). Our days are filled with babies playing, napping, crying and eating. We are living our best life.

To make things more exciting, our new furnace quit working yesterday and we had to have an emergency technician visit to get it back up and running. Our installer is ordering new sensors and checking it out later on in the week or so.

Our company is staying until Friday so some time next week I will be once again visiting your spaces and catching up on your news. I hope you are all well!

  4. Oh Karen, so sorry about your Granddaughter's RSV diagnosis...but I'm thankful she was not kept at the ER and was able to come home to you. And, you and your Sister made Thanksgiving work at both houses! Hopefully the rest of this week will be uneventful and you can just relax and enjoy your company.

  7. So sorry to hear about the RSV diagnosis and ER visit. I remember making that same visit last year with my youngest and RSV was all the rage. It turned out he had croup.

  10. Oh my. As Bonny wrote, never a dull moment. I'm glad your little granddaughter is feeling better. RSV in little ones can be frightening. It sounds as if you made Thanksgiving work. Kudos to you and your sister but I imagine the two of you are old hands at working together. I hope everyone stays well.

  11. Karen Happy Birthday! I hope your granddaughter is much improved by now. RSV is sure scarey. I had a little chuckle when you mentioned swapping food between two houses...families are the best at making things work.

  13. I'm so sorry your granddaughter wasn't feeling well. I hope by now she is on the mend. (I'm a little behind in reading).

Your heater. MY oven. The week before Thanksgiving half of the control panel stopped working. Thankfully, I could still get the "bake" to work. So, we had BAKED turkey instead of "ROASTED". It was still delicious. LOL
