Weekends

Good morning! How was your weekend? How was the time change?

I have a rough time with the time change no matter which time change it is. I am tired and hungry at the usual times that are now changed. This morning, both pets were confused with the morning routines. As I sit and type this up in the kitchen, the sun is shining! It's supposed to be partly-cloudy, but the sun didn't get the forecast yet. Let's hope the sun stays for a while.

This weekend I gnomed myself out. I worked on them, inching closer to my goal of seven total. I finished number five yesterday and cast on number six. I have more to knitting projects for after the gnomes are completed for the holidays and gosh, I'm starting to dream of knitting for myself.

I also painted a birthday card for my mother in law who loves my artwork. She is a talented artist herself but has advanced macular degeneration and cannot see well enough to watercolor. With her vision aid, she can enjoy my handmade cards.

Over the weekend, I started writing THE LISTS for Thanksgiving. I am confident that a list will solve the most challenging hosting tasks. That is, of course, if I remember to write everything done.

  1. Karen I love your watercolor card! You are so talented and the colors you choose are always perfect. I love making lists myself. At this age, they get me thru the day! I also struggle with both time changes. Have a great week..can't wait to see gnome #6.

  2. So nice to see your watercolor painting again! The Fall back time change never seems to bother me...just the Spring forward. But honestly, I with they'd just pick one or the other and stich with it! My weekend was great - I got together with both Dee and Bonny!!

  5. I hear ya when it comes to the time change. I always have mixed feelings about it this time of year...not so much in the spring. This time of year, I enjoy the fact that the sun and daylight peeps through the blinds earlier because I am basically a morning person. I'm not as much of a fan of it getting dark so early at first, but the longer it goes the more I enjoy the coziness of it.

Your watercolor card for your mother in law is beautiful. I know she will appreciate your thoughtfulness. Our oldest granddaughter has such artistic talent and I am the recipent of her work. They are treasures for me.

I'm also a list person! If I didn't make a list I doubt that I would be able to function! lol

  6. Your water colored card is beautiful. Happy birthday to your mother-in-law.

I love when the clocks turn back. I don't see that it changes much in my life. Giroux reacts by our cues. I haven't noticed him asking for food earlier or waking up earlier.

  7. Such a beautiful card!
We don't have daylight saving here, but I used to be off for days after the time changes. Now I only have to deal with or six hour jet lags...

  8. I am a big list writer when I host a holiday. It will just be my husband and MIL this year. I never have a problem with the time changes. I don't like the early afternoon darkness though. Your card is beautiful. Enjoy your knitting.

  9. What a lovely weekend ... we're still in the talking phase of Thanksgiving (no lists yet!) ... but I'm thinking about EIGHT weeks left in the year and what do I want to fill those weeks with.

  10. What a beautiful card for your MIL. I'm glad she can enjoy your work. I'm confident your Thanksgiving holiday will be a smashing success. Taking a break from gnomes sounds like a good idea. Gosh it got dark early today. I will miss the light in the evenings.

  11. What a pretty card! Our weekend was relaxing after a pretty busy one. We are still trying to get used to the time change also; it's so dark now at 5 pm, and rainy, too.! Happy knitting!

  12. My mother has macular degeneration + she gets injections in her eye every month. Her older sister had it, too. Since i turned 40, my vision has gotten worse and I read that it's genetic. That's such a pretty photo of the watercolor trays on your table, makes me want to sit down and paint!
