Weekends

How was your weekend? Mine was relaxing and 'ordinary'. I spent most of Saturday reading books or knitting or sitting and relaxing. It was a fantastic restful day. Frodo is getting old and only wants to sit outside for about 20 minutes then he wants back inside.

On Sunday, we went to Mass and I endured a speaker (after the sermon) who was going to 'keep it short' which is code for another 10 minutes which is not short at all. My wish and desire is that they put it in the bulletin.

Sunday afternoon was more of the same as on Saturday just add my laundry.

I sketched (!) on both days, feeling rusty but definitely loving the time I spent in my sketchbook.

How was your weekend?

  1. Your flowers are so lovely and I love your bird drawing! And I think that Sherman and Frodo would be quite the pals... Sherman does not like being outdoors long either!

  4. That shade of Lupine is gorgeous, Karen! Ours are all purple. Hmmm...now I will need to be on the lookout for different colors! Glad you had a good and relaxing weekend.

  5. Ordinary days - love them. And we are entering the season or Ordinary Time. I am planning more sketching and looking and listening and reading for my ordinary days. So much love for Frodo

  7. aww, sweet Frodo! My Lewey is old too and very slow moving. Looks like peonies are getting ready to bloom?! Love those!
Your sketching is great! Wish I had that talent.
Your weekend sounds much like what I need after having my granddaughter for the day! LOL! Have a blessed week!

  8. Putting the info in the bulletin would be wisest since so many 'book it' after communion! You flower photos are so pretty. We had gorgeous flowers all around us this year thanks to lots of rain this winter. But, with the weather heating up, they are starting to wither away. You drawing looks darn good to me!

  11. Oh that little extra 10 minutes that is never really 10 minutes is the most annoying this.
We celebrated the beautiful sunny day with a family picnic on Sunday.. otherwise everything was pretty lowkey.

  13. Peonies here are ready to open soon, too. We don't have any in our yard, but there are a lot at the church.

I get that about a speaker going on and on...ugh. It should have been after and optional.
