Happenings
Good morning! How are you doing?
Oh my, I've been busy. I saw the eye doctor on Friday and I see her again today. She is getting close to the final fittings of the custom made contact lenses to protect my severe dry eye due to Sjogren's Syndrome. I am getting used to putting them in and taking out, better than I thought I would!
We went to the art museum a few days ago and then went out to lunch for our 'first' outdoor patio eating of the season. It was wonderful to be outside and to look at the pond. I wish I could photograph the frogs singing, but I guess you'll have to imagine that. They were delightful.
I've been spending all my free time working on the christening blanket and have added the second skein yesterday. I've quit timing myself because the rows get longer and longer. I have 90 rows to go! If I run out of this yarn I have yet another 500 yards of a third back up yarn for the edging. I love the not knowing. I also love to knit with small sized needles because my arthritis behaves. When it's worsted weight yarn then my hands get a little grumpy.
What have you been up to lately?
Wow, you are flying on that blanket! I finished my Swirly Vest yesterday, and it needs a bit of a soak this morning! Woo!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that you are making such good progress on the christening blanket. Keep going!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to our first outdoor dining later this week. That blanket is looking wonderful. Wait....90 more rows?!
ReplyDeleteI thought of you the other day when a row on my Semplice shawl took me 20 minutes. I think I have somewhere between 50-60 more rows, but (like you) I will not time them. Every other row increases by 4 stitches and they add up quickly! Glad to read that you are close to getting your "perfect" contact lenses. Eyesight is just so precious!
ReplyDeleteThe blanket looks so intricate.. Good to hear you are getting used to your contacts, putting things in your eye is always scary. Taking care of your eyes and doing what needs to be done to ensure vision is also important. Hope you get to that perfect fit soon.
ReplyDeleteGlad to read that the contact lenses are working out.
ReplyDeleteI love the photo of the table umbrellas. Our red one got trashed in a storm last year. It was ripped right out of the table. The table damage we could fix, but the umbrella? Not so much. We got a new blue one this year, but it has been up exactly twice. Wind and rain have been keeping it "under wraps". Hopefully, we'll have nicer weather soon.
