The Happenings

Last night I started to bind off this shawl, and I think it's going to take most of the day today.  I'm getting excited to see this beauty soaked and blocked.  Fingers crossed that I'll be doing that this afternoon.  I'm already thinking of the "next" shawl in my dreams.  There are so many to choose from and only so many hours in each day.

My Kelp Cardi has been neglected this week, so very sad.  I think maybe once the shawl is blocking I will resume my knitting of the body.  Once the body is finished I know it will be a breeze to whip up the sleeves and button bands.

My socks.....my socks are in a little bit of a time out because I believe the socks caused the hand pain.  So one more week of a time out and I'll resume the knitting and see how it goes.  My hand is feeling pretty good and I think the worst is over.

  2. You are going to have the best day! How exciting to cast off and block such a beautiful project.
I think part of the fun of knitting is decided on what to cast on and the picking out just the right yarn,
makes my pulse beat faster ;)

  4. Blocking is the best part of knitting a lace project as you can watch it unfurl to its full beauty. Hope your hand feels better quickly! Hand pain often keeps me from my needles.

  5. So much fun you will have today! I love when I am so close to finishing a project. I have been slacking in my knitting in general because of my hand pain. I know I have to take it easy. You will get back to those socks in no time.

  10. I get hand pain too if I'm on the computer too much....carpet tunnel, I'm told. But- it goes away with some rest.
Love all your projects Karen! And wanted you to know, I got your sweet comment even though it went to Spam. I don't know why Typepad tosses your comments in Spam but it's very rude!!!

  12. Naughty socks. tsk, tsk. Hope those tiny dpns aren't the cause. I love knitting with dpns even though I do get some cramping in my hands and my carpel tunnel acts up a bit...such a price to pay for knitting. :) Can't wait to see that shawl...

    1. The mug is from Lang and Wise collector mugs made in 1998-they always have a beautiful array of mugs-this one was a gift from a friend decades ago :)
